1. *Special double show with JOHN COWAN Sunday May 17 Eddie's Attic*
The Will Scruggs Jazz Fellowship has been invited to share a bill at Eddie's Attic with 'NewGrass' legend JOHN COWAN and his band. Cowan was the lead singer and bass player for the world-famous bluegrass band New Grass Revival, whose music I grew up on and still listen to today.  New Grass Revival was founded by Sam Bush and it was also Bela Fleck's first band.  I was 6 years old the first time I heard a New Grass record and it was the first time I can remember being completely thrilled by music.  Check out this YouTube video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qor_3az1YdU.
It'll be an early show (doors at 6:30, music promptly at 7:30) and for one ticket you can hear a set by John Cowan Band AND a set by Will Scruggs Jazz Fellowship. I'll be playing a good portion of Cowan's set and then he'll sing a few with the Jazz Fellowship, too.  This promises to be a really interesting night - Eddie is calling it the JAZZ-GRASS extravaganza......Advance tickets are just $15 at www.eddiesattic.com (or $18 at the door). Last time at Eddie's we sold out and had to turn away lots of people, so buy your tickets ahead of time at www.eddiesattic.com

2.  *BlueBari Jam Reunion in Washington DC June 5 & 6*
On Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6, the Will Scruggs Jazz Fellowship returns to TWINS Jazz in Washington DC. This will be a very special weekend because it will be a reunion of the original BLUEBARI JAM line-up (Will Scruggs, Brian Hogans, Zack Pride, and Marlon Patton), and this will mark the first time we've performed together since 2006. We'll also feature my very good friend Charles Phaneuf on tenor sax. This is possibly my favorite line-up in the history of the band and I know it will be a great weekend. We've also been invited to preview our show at the Kennedy Center at 6 PM on June 6th. For advance tickets to TWINS, visit www.twinsjazz.com.
