On friday the 20th April we had the big strawberry fair benefit gig down the junction. It went well and we made some money for strawberry fair, the decorations looked lovely, katie, amelie, jaime, tim and the rest of the hippies had made giant 6 foot strawberries, nick townsend had illuminated them with fairy lights and the junction crew hung them up at the back of the stage (admittedly they hung them over the projection screens so mike didn't get to do visuals on the white background he hoped for....... but nothing ever goes fully to plan and i wasn't able to be there during the setup and so it slipped, i bought mike some beers, i hope it was enough!).

Body art mike came down and him and tim painted all my mates wacky uv colours (i got an eye of horus done on my arm), darren and his mate who's name escapes me did juggling and other random stuff, a couple of girls were down swinging poi type scarves and generally making the event seem more strawberry fair like, the info stall was beautifully decorated and at the end of the night me, lizz, oksana, amy, pants and sam got on stage and were dancing around to colin starr (who played an excellent set) it felt like a warehouse reunion at the junction!!! I even got to do the PA announcement at the end of the night, so my one ego massage moment was sorted for the night, happy days.

I ended up being the main strawberry fair side liason with the junction duty manager for the night and gained a bit of valuable experience, which was nice.

The one thing that wasn't so great was that for reasons i missed security kicked jahba out of the venue (i missed the exact reason, but i did hear he was mouthing off at security which is always a winner of a move) and luvlea decides that this is my fault, he also decides that there should be a rider backstage at strawberry fairs expense for crew and the fact there isn't one is also my fault, unfortunatey lea has a unique style of arguing which involves a constant nagging that eventually turns into white noise after about 15 minutes, back in the day i could tollerate this for about an hour maybe two if i was well rested. Tonight after being harranged for 30 minutes backstage at which point i walked away he went for round two just after the gig had finished, i was in no mood for it and after 5 minutes of him shouting aggessively at me i asked security to remove him. I was busy helping tim, katie, jay, amelie and the junction crew with the packdown, removing the t shirts, small strawberry decorations and other stuff and had neither the time or the inclination to listen to him shout at me for the rest of the night, it might have been a slight over-reaction on my part but to be honest it's probably the only way he'll ever learn to argue in a civilised manner and more importantly that the time for arguments is after all the work is done and the venue is clear so everyone can go home and have a drink, welcome to the ozzy school of tough love. I'm sure he'll calm down eventually.

I took some photos of the night which are going in my photos section, thanks for everyone who turned up! I'm going to have a pint of beer to celebrate.
