It has been several months since my last blog-based "hello", and most of the tracks I uploaded back then are still only in the single digits, as far as
listens are concerned. But they aren't concerned. Nor are the listen'rs who haven't listen'd, it seems :-) Yet, I haven't exactly been doing things to make people aware of Inhibitionists' existence on ThisSpace. (Come to think of it, I haven't logged into Virb for ages either. Is the Digital Revolution just a passing fad?)
A couple of albums remain unreleased (despite agreements having been reached... over a year ago) so I'll have to do something about those soon. I had originally intended to
not issue solo Inhibitionists releases through
A Beard of Snails, but I might have to lift the self imposed "ban" (Kowloon II and Sacred Carp are me all by my lonesome anyway.)
Art is a Joke will not be releasing any more (official) audio releases, instead focusing on zines, art books, poetry. Not that the first AIAJ paper release is even in the planning phase or anything yet, just wanted to mention it.
As for Sacred Carp, I've recently compiled my most "tribal free folk" material from the past two or so years, for a pair of A Beard of Snails releases. It'll be two very limited edition (would you have expected anything more?) 3" CD-Rs: "The Rest of Sacred Carp" and "More Rest Of". Once you own these, the "Expulsion Into Offering #2" compilation tape (which also contains the only Inhibitionists tracks to have been issued in 2009 so far) and its sibling "Expulsion Into Offering #3", you'll be able to call yourself a Sacred Carp completist. Probably not something you'd want to publicly admit, but still.
Why no further Sacred Carp? For one, I seem to have exhausted/exorcized my freaky folkish tribalism (but I still have long hair.) For the other, I don't want people to confuse Sacred Carp with the similarly minded, totally excellent
Sacred Basil (www.myspace.com/saacredbaasil). Then again, there are only about a hundred bands that have "Crystal" in their name. I have plenty of other ideas and names, which I intend to use for future collaborative projects and such.
That is what is upward at the moment, then.
'til whenever again,
Christian
