Current mood:  contemplative
Ok so I was thinking about random shit today and I came up with a riddle wrapped in a conundrum dipped in an enigma.  Alright, somebody has split personalities; one personality is really evil, like a serial killer and shit and the other one is really good, like he's always giving to the homeless helping people out.  The person dies, does he go to heaven or hell?

At first I amused the idea that maybe the good side went to heaven and the bad side went to hell, but no matter how many personalities there are there's still only one soul. After much thought I came to the conclusion that it would probably depend on which was the dominant personality  but I still don't know for sure.

Please comment on this one, I would love to hear what all you people think.

Yay, I just love psychological discussions! Personally, I would like to think that God would not sentence a person with such a condition, through no fault of their own, to a lifetime of suffering - assuming that the subject has only the two, independent personalities: good and evil. What really baffles me about the Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder) is the biochemical and optical differences found within each personality. But now I’m also interested in knowing what makes you think of these things...! Yes, I know that I have too much time on my hands for a Friday night! :o)

Obviously, Nathran, God would gladly open the gates of Heaven for this suffering soul.  Regardless of what evil this person has done, it was of no fault of his own.  We have a forgiving God.

Ha... I just read this blog. It's Friday, work is slow, I am bored! So here are my thoughts on the matter. First off I'm not even sure that I support the notion of a heaven and a hell. I am Catholic so yadda yadda it was ingrained into me at a young age. Also I am an American woman who was taught to think for myself and question everything that man has written or said. Therefore I am constantly questioning the bible. Parts of it say that killing is bad but yet there is more murder in the Bible than any other published piece of work. Thou shall not kill yet it also says an eye for an eye. Be he who has no sin the first to cast a stone yet the disiples who had a lot of clout in the bible condemned many for the evil that they committed, they were man they sinned yet they threw the most stones. Plus if Jesus died on the cross so that all sins may be forgiven and he spent his last moments with a thief and a murderer saying that they shall be forgiven, why then would hell even exist if only to frighten us all into being good and just. And what is good and just but something that was determined by a few to be the "right thing." But that's opening up a whole new can of worms... If you're interested read Plato's Republic good reading, very interesting and insightful. He talks alot about justice and what it really is. But I'm off the subject.... Then there is this... who is to say that there is only one soul per body? Maybe the two personalities are two souls dwelling in one body and they are fighting to be the sole owner of the body. Once one dominates the other goes to their chosen destination. I've heard that often with MPD the people mourn the loss of their other personalities when they are "cured." So maybe there are multiple souls as well. I don't know but this was an interesting thought Nate. Let's go get drunk tomorrow so we don't have to think so damn much! Ha ha... luvs ya!
