Last night at the Cockpit, we had a blaze of electronic music Live.
(pictures forthcoming) We all showed up early, set up on stage all in a
line, (it's a huge stage). While we set up, we had DubbleDutch spinning
his fine fine selections, while everybody got situated with a fabulous
drink from the kind of bartender that takes care of you well (as long
as you tip him well). Up first was kIdS wItH ChEmiCalS and I Loved all
of his stuff. I was thinking at the end, I need to get this man's CD
when it comes out. He set the mood, and had a great performance. AT the
end of his 30 min set, he faded out with his song, as we, came up on
stage, and faded in our first song with his last. Our set was great.
It's the best set we've played in my memory. Everything went smooth,
and the vibe with the audience, the bar, and us was just perfect. We
had the attention of the crowd our entire set, which made it easy to
sing my heart out. We played for an hour, with most of the songs on our
reverb page, as well as a few other new ones, Wonderland and Moonglow.
The crowd was so awesome, the best crowd yet, indeed. It was one of
those that i wished i could've had a recording of. During Code Blue, I
got so into it, sometimes i wasn't even exactly in front of the
microphone. only because i was singing so passionately, i lost track of
everything but the music. We ended with Sunday Drive, which was
spectacular as well, and as we faded out to the end (you'll know the
end if you've listened to the song) and Rainbow Friendship Explosion
took the end, and dropped it mad into their first track. They blew the
house away with their electro mash-ups. A true stellar performance.
They won the award for having the most people out. Complete with their
sound, they had rainbow colored bandannas and she had a little brightly
colored guitar (kid guitar?) that was just priceless. hopefully we got
a picture of that. Ending off the set was DJ Squire, trance, and some
break-beat that ended off the night. We managed to seamlessly go from
one act to another with no breaks, so the audience didn't have to sit
for an hour and wait for set-up & break-down. We actually got to
break down while Squire was up in the DJ booth, so both we could get
our stuff packed up, and the audience could still sit, talk, and drink
around the bar. The CockPit was an awesome place to do that kind of
show, with a great staff, owner, and the perfect stage to make it all
happen. I could really go on all day, i'm still buzzing from the great
show that is was. Thanks in advance to all the fans that will come to
our show in the future. You truly make it what it is. An experience of
music. an experience of the divine. Coming together lets us tap into
the universal core, a more powerful element, than anything on earth.
much love from The Lux Divon crew. Stay Tuned.
