I'm brainstorming an awesome Christmas collection as requested by Florence's mom, and in my search for the most Jan Fensterer-y songs out there - I struck gold.

"Hard Candy Christmas" by Dolly Parton.  Can we talk about how spectacular this song is?  And how Dolly Parton seems to transcend country music time and time again?  I love her for that.  I am sooo learning this song on my future ukulele and performing it for Mrs Fensterer and company.  I'd post the lyrics right now, but I'm not about to be one of those people (I am one of those people, aren't I?), so here's simply my favorite part:

____________________________________________________

Maybe I'll sleep real late
Maybe I'll lose some weight
Maybe I'll clear my junk
Maybe I'll just get drunk on apple wine
Me, I'll be just

Fine and Dandy
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down

_____________________________________________________

Thank you, Dolly.  Thank you.

So I have to look up this song now, but it made me think of ribbon candy. And I think ribbon candy is yummy. Yes, I am 65.

You know I love ribbon candy, too. I'm glad that we're elderly together.
I need to make you a Christmas mix with this song in it. 'Though I often assume that you already have all the Christmas songs in the world.

Haha, I do not have all the Christmas songs in the world. Close, but no...

I will have to hunt down some ribbon candy for us to feast upon together!

Ribbon Candy is amazing even when there are random clove flavored ones. Makes no sense. The orange ones, right?

Also, it freaks me out a bit that people actually read this "blog" so maybe I should start writing things of more importance/interest. I'll call you soon, brother Nick (or should I now call you Rookie of the Year?).
