JOINTPOP ON INDIEBANDSBLOG.COM
Jointpop from Trinidad and Tobago have been around since
1996, producing music with a wide range of influences, from the ’60s to the
’80s. Gary Hector (Guitar/Vocal), Damon Homer (Guitar)
Dion Camacho (Drums) Phil Hill (Keyboards) and Jerome
Girdharrie (Bass) have combined to make a great sounding band.
Throughout their wide repertoire, I find myself happily tapping away to the
sound pouring in to my ears, with a smile on my face. Just the kind of
up-lifting rock the world needs to find more time to enjoy. Maintaining an
extensive touring calendar, on an email exchange Gary indicated that
Jointpop are hoping to play in the UK during 2010. Well worth taking
time to get out the see the band when they arrive near to you.
Jointpop sit outside the mainstream of music, for no discernible
reason and it would come as no surprise at all to see them scoring some well
deserved success, as the winds of fashion change.
I normally listen to the music as I am writing an article and on this
occasion I have been so distracted by the music, which I have enjoyed immensely,
I have now been writing this short article for well over an hour, as I am
transported back to my days as a ’70s Punk Rocker on to some superb reggae
sounds, with a wide range of styles in between.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to hear much of Jointpop, the
Album, The January Transfer Window is a great introduction Once
