Current mood: pirate Category: Music
Words are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup...
Again, I haven't written the music yet, and I'm sure I'll rearrange some of the words and lines, but I'm calling it: I wrote another new song. So, in this month alone, that's two more than I wrote all of last year. (Well, two more sets of lyrics anyway.)
It's been fun and rewarding to challenge myself like this again, thinking of rhymes and cooler-sounding synonyms. And a lot of alliteration and assonance. Awesome.
I also like repetition a lot. I said, I also like repetition a lot.

Sarah Says
Sun has set, the stars are out Moonlight shines on Sarah's house Otherwise the street is dark Open windows, broken hearts
Full of life but also hollow Sarah steps, the spotlight follows Otherwise the street is dead Open arms and empty head
Sarah says she thinks she knows Where the road you're taking goes Sarah says what Sarah means You're asleep while Sarah dreams
Sarah should've spoken up Sarah should've spoken up Sarah should've spoken up Better now but broken up
Beat by beat and blow by blow Sarah's feet in stereo Otherwise the street is hers Open doors and empty words
Listen to the leaves she sweeps Jesus cries and Sarah weeps Otherwise the street is dust Open eyes and broken trust
Sarah says she isn't lost Stars and streets and signals crossed Sarah says what she believes Wish I may that Sarah leaves
Sarah never said a thing Sarah never said a thing Sarah never said a thing Open road and broken wing
(and etc.)
