This weekend I went to the NYDM Annual/Overlord Benefit. I haven't seen my NYDM family in over a year and this weekend was just so amazing. Everytime we get together as a whole it just reminds me how strong we are. How much love there is, how united we are as not only lovers of metal, but the strength we have for each other. I chose to be a part of the NYDM because of the common ground we have with music...but I really didn't know when I started my prospecting back in 06 how much deeper it is. How we all can get together and have such an amazing time.

This year was a bitter sweet annual, with the passing of 3 brothers this year, This benefit brought us together to help raise money for Todd's family and his amazing wife Anne. Tears were shed, but along with those tears came laughter and fun, the way Jeff, Todd, Don and Stephen would have wanted it.. Even though I have never had the opportunity to know Jeff or Stephen, I know that they all were there with us this weekend throwing up the horns.

NYDM means so much to me, I can't fathom my life with out this club, or my life with out my NYDM family. I can't wait to meet those I have yet to meet, and those who will be come part of the family. Until we all meet again NFLAD. NYDM forever.
