FYI - this poem has no meaning to anything in my life @ the moment.. so for those who feed into nonsense and drama... steer clear from my life... NEGATIVITY is one thing i'm not into.... this is just to remind many about friendship and the meanings to things... plus there is more to life than what many of us think... and I know for sure at this point in my life i've decided to head to bigger and better places.. cause I know I'm one of the many who DESERVE it!!
As times goes by, I begin to cry because it has come to an end.
I trusted you, I confided in you, I thought you were my friend.
But I guess I was wrong, you were just singing that song, all you did was pretend.
It's all right, you've made me see the light, and now your no longer my friend.
Us ladies never truly take the time out to get to know each other but yet we speak of one another as we are best of friends or even family... What is that all about?? I sit here and think of the people around me and say hmmm if I took the chance out to figure who knew me would that take me awhile.. nope not at all.... There is always a competition of who knows who and how many ladies in the lesbian community know... well its time we took a step back and look at one another and truly care if we are going to call ourselves friends. We sit here and say we love each other.. how so? When at times we don't even love ourselves.. Before my Grandma past she gave me a word of wisdom.. to her in this world their isn't a such things as friends... there are aquaintances and family. Aquaintances are those that many of u are basically we say hello and chit chat here and there but nothing deep. Aquaintances will fill up your parties mos def. Now fam doesn't have to be blood related. My grandma said those "friend" that can c through you and know when something is wrong, when they call you out of the blue to check up on you, when they never start a rumor becuase they know that can hurt many, these are the "friends" that are family.
So ladies take a minute out of your life and realize who is truly going to be there for you and who is not. It's not a popularity contest, not at all. In life many things will change, new situation will arise, good or bad but i bet those "friends" who are in the fam category will always be there to help u pick ureself up when times are rough. Never judge your friends its not your place. Your place honestly is to make sure they are safe and happy in their world while your around. And with that ladies I will go now and call my friends and tell them no matter what has been done to me or them here and there i will understand and that I love them and only them as my family!
