Hello there.

I hurriedly finnished this zombie for the private view of our open studio's event last weekend. It still needs a bit of work doing on the rear so you can walk right around it and peer into the back of it's eye sockets.

This new carcass (entitled 'Decendent') hangs suspended in the air and has a spider plant growing from the bottom of its neck.

I exhibited a few other things at the Inbristol studios open weekend including my insect shoe. We also painted a mural on one of the buildings exterior walls with the help of local kids ( I'll post a blog with some mural painting photo's at some point.)

(The dust around the shoe is talc and is supposed to look like ant powder or some such insect slaying chemical. The delicate spheres on the shelf below were made by ceramicist Katie Shepherd and in this context look to me like they could be insect eggs.)

Some spider plant trivia: Spider plants have the ability to clean the air. They take in and metabolise atmospheric pollutants and use them as food, thus reducing or eliminating some toxins. They are particularly good at removing carbon monoxide, formaldehyde and nitrogen from the air. -Good in a smokers household!
