Recently, I heard through the blog grapevine about a site called thereprobablyisnt.com.  It's basically a place for people to post their personal stories about how they came to be atheists.  Yesterday I submitted my own story... which was in retrospect about twice as long as what they were looking for... but they accepted it anyway, and you can see it live on their website today.

It really makes me sad when people talk about being atheists. Having faith and believing that there is more to this life than nothing is everything to me. Having given birth to my children and feeling them move and grow inside me is not nothing its life, life from god.Having lost a child recently I have faith in God and know I will see her again one day. No "probably" about it. There is God.

Wow. I never knew Granny affected you that way. I still remember visiting her at the nursing home to try to show her the wedding pictures, but I knew way before that she was long gone. I just wanted to see for myself, one more time.

For what it's worth, I still hear her. I still hear about the jackets and cookies too, but more importantly, I just hear her. She may or may not be in heaven, but she's still alive.
