The Perennials are a fairly well-established local band with a steady schedule of shows and a bit of press and label interest, and we are currently drummerless.
We're looking for someone who can commit to one practice a week in Allston, two or three shows a month in New England, and the possibility of recording and touring on occasion. Gender and age are unimportant but 18+ is definitely preferable, as are owning your own kit and having a way to shlep it around.
This is where I should list influences... basically we all listen to different stuff, but random people have compared us favorably to Morrissey, The Misfits, The Rolling Stones, The Strokes, The Ramones and a host of other bands who don't sound alike. In terms of drumming style, if we had to choose between someone with really crazy chops and really precise tech skills, and someone who hits really hard, has some stage presence and can ride a groove, we'd prefer the latter. If you are both, you are my fucking god. My favorite drummers lately are Mitch Mitchell, Janet Weiss and Keith Moon.
