Current mood:  chipper
I just realised that I have not told you guys about the wonderful coincidental meeting on the mega bus that led to finding my new and amazing rhythm section and making the last 6 months such a blaaaaast!

The Boys

Basically I'd decided to move back to London, and on the weekend that I'd moved all my stuff up there I met Mike on the Mega Bus. Mike turned out to be the loveliest smileyest drummer in the entier universe,  he introduced me to Double bass player Zac. I was in Bristol for a week, during which we had two amazing practices and by the end of the week I was smitten. I was releasing my first EP "Did It!" in two weeks time and doing a little UK tour to back it up. I asked the boys if they were up for it, as and they said YES! Yeahy!

The first tour
So we practised like mad for the next two weeks and then we went off giging the set. We had loads of fun and wound up back in Bristol on the 5th of Feb, (after surviving a massive snow strom on the way back from Burmingham, the fan belt braking, and everyone having to kip at mine whilst waiting for the AA!), to do our luanch Party as a tight little band!

We've been having a whale of time since then and im going to take you through a whistle stop tour of the last 6 months to bring you up to date.

Piny Gir and the bus dudes
The rest of February was mainly full of snow with some nice gigs dotted in between, a lovely little gig at the Croft in Bristol with me and Zac doing our duo thing and then a brillinat gig at Chaple Arts Centre in Bath supporting Piney Gir and her Country Road Show, which was a night of fantactic dresses and good cheer all round. In March We got up to more Local gigs, with the Anti Folk Fest at the Junction finishing it off. At this point I will remind you that my move to london had happend, so my life had become a little hectic! But determined to keep this band going I made the weekly trips back to Bristol to practice, leading to me becoming very familiar with the national express and mega bus dudes xxx

Darren Hayman and recording the album
April was very exciting as we were heading into the studio!  We had three days with Jim Barr in J&J Studios in Bristol to record our Album! thats right we were gonna record an Album! So we had a week of solid rehersal, lots of long days, late nights, and tea.  Then off we went into the studio to do our stuff. It was a great experience being in the studio and working with Jim. We finished April with an amazing gig at London's 100 Club supporting Darren Hayman. The Crowd were great, and playing live after all that pactice and recording felt great. This gig gave us a chance to try our new songs, of which "Mayonaise" was becoming a favorite for us and the crowd!

Then we had a little break :)  Phew!

Fishes tour and Glastonbury
Gigs started again at the end of May, with a little tiny gig that i did in SHOP in Bristol, surrounded by beautiful people and beautiful things, and then heading of on our second little tour of the UK to promote our second EP, "Fishes" over June. Playing in York,(We have dedicated a blog to Jamie and the mouse who put us up in York the single best host in the world.Read it) Birmingham, Bristol, Bath and London, and finishing up at Glastonbuy Festival! (THANK YOU to The lady that came all the way from London to see us in Bath,  do get in touch)

We had a really great time at Glastonbury, had an amazing gig on the Band Stand, and would like to thank all of you that showed up to support us, it was so lovely to see you there! we played 4 gigs in total, doing Avalon Cafe, where we saw more of our friends, and then a couple of back stage gigs on the Clapped Out Stage and at a Cocktail Bar, where I got paid in White Russians! Woo Woo!! Also at this Gig we met comedian Arthur Smith which was a treat, he'd been watching at the back and apparently had been charmed :)  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Smith_(comedian)

Duo gigs and Mike and the circus

So After Glastonbury we were all a little tired and sun burnt, but Mike still found the energy to head off to spain two days later for a juggling convetion! and me and Zac followed it up with a gig on the Wednesday supporting the American singer songwriter, Simone White. Also playing that night was Rozi Plain, who I was blown away by, and Jamie, that I'd met at SHOP and plays lovley little tunes.

The next gig was last weekend, so were nearly up to date! We played at the Royal Oak in Bath and found ourselves plyed with free beer and lovely company. I'd spent the day in Bath climbing into flower beds on the request of a photographer, so me and zac arrived seperatly. which led to slightly disaterous consequences on the way home, drunk and alone we headed off our seperate ways, me with my bus return ticket and zac to the train station. I managed to fall sound aleep, and had many a lovely dream on the journy back ot bristol, being woken up by the bus driver after arving at Bristol Bus station, luckily thats where i was heading. Zac however, managed to sit on the wrong side of the platform and watch his train,(the last train) chuff by, as he realised his maistake! Woopsy!

Indie Tracks

This this weekends we got to go to indie tracks indiepop festival in Derby, where we played on a steam train!!!!  Indei tracks was such a wonderfull expereience that weve done its very own Blog. If you'd like to find out about the gig on the train all our other adventures on public transport that day then go to the, Indietracks: Trains and Buses blog.

Finally

Thanks to everyone that has helped us throught these last six months, we've had a whale of a time and hope you have enjoyed our encounters as much as we have. If you met us or saw us play anywhere over this period of time please get in touch we'd love to hear from you.
