I don't really come on myspace as frequently as I used to. Generally, I just come on to check messages/comments, do a survey or two, and play mafia wars :D it's an addicting habit, I know. You should join my mafia, or join my dog pack in dog wars hahaha. I've been more active on facebook, but it really isnt much of a difference from what is going on here on myspace.
I've been doing a lot of things lately off of the internet, which feels much healthier. Namely, I have been very active with the pet prescription therapy dog team. Missy enjoys going out and entertaining people who dont get to do much every day. She is the official "trick dog" and even is featured in a video to promote the team. she doesnt get to show many due to the editing, but maybe when it is up, I'll post it somewhere. it is more than just her tricks, but talks about how to prepare a dog to become a therapy animal.
otherwise, missy has been officially retired from agility, lol. her arthritus has been getting worse and she is getting slower (for obvious reasons). she just wont be doing it anymore, and it's pointless to put her through it just so i can learn for a future dog. so we had a second option...
The trainer I have been working with, Krystal, who is also the director of the therapy group we are part of has given me the opprotunity to work with her dog, Gittalong, to run in agility. We replaced him with Missy for my biweekly classes (but Missy still gets to come and hang out!). I have already entered him into a trial coming up memorial day weekend, and we are so excited! He is a fun little dog to run, and gets me in better shape than Missy did :D
I am so thankful that I have been given this chance and that Krystal have been so kind to me, as well as became a friend through it all. We are taking the best of Missy and using it, while also allowing me to tune something I still have great interest in doing. ...now we just have to convince my mom on letting me get my own dog someday! hahaha.
That's pretty much it. I sort of keep these things more for myself, it seems, but I like to keep track of what is going on a bit on something simple like this.
I'll be taking part in a conformation handling seminar the same weekend I am running Gitty, but that Friday with a bunch of handlers. For that, I will use Missy. She isn't the best dog to use, but then again, she has so many "faults" as far as her structure goes that I may learn some good information on hiding those? I am just thinking on the bright side, hahah. :D
I will have someone taking video of Gitty and I running agility as well. if I am lucky, maybe something from the handling seminar. hahaha.
