Current mood:  optimistic

Okay Ladies and Gents, I gotta favor to ask...

Here at Bettie Page we like to participate in local, or coastal rockabilly/retro culture events. We just supported our lovely local beauties Babes in Sin, VIVA, Rod Reunion, will be apart of First Friday, and there's also a handful of other cookie jars we got our hands in. What our bosses we're thinking was what if we put together our own lil ... well, not so lil, but event - a Rockabilly Cruise!

It's still in the works, it would be sometime after August next year but it would be VERY affordable. It leaves from LA, but it'll be a week long cruise to Mexico!

WHAT I NEED FROM YOU is some ideas, suggestions on either Bands that should play, burly q wanted, impersonators, contest, vendors, classes, movies, themed nights i.e. tiki, appearances.....ANYYTHING that would make you wanna go to this Event. Also, if you yourself ARE a Band or Label, lets us know if your interested!

FEEDBACK IS MUCH APPREACIATED AND NEEDED!

Let us know what you think! Since we're still in the 'brainstormin' phase, your ideas and recommendations could make the itinerary!

I SAY WE GET AXL ROSE TO COME OUT OF SECLUSION AND RECLUSION AND APPOINT HIM MASTER OF CEROMONIES, ONLY HE CAN'T DO ANY O' G N'R TUNES UNLESS HE TAKES THE CORNROWS OUT AND WEARS RAINBOW SUSPENDERS! "I'LL SING ONE, THEN YOU SING 1, WE'LL DO THIS A FEW TIMES, N' LET'S SEE IF WE can't make THIS A little LOUDER THAN THE LAST TIME WE WERE HERE, I THINK Wii CAN-CAN DO THAT TONIGHT DON'T YOU!?!?!?!!!!!!" ALLRIGHT. "WE'VE GOT ONE MORE LEFT. LET'S MAKE IT THIS 1 LOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUD! they"re gonna think WE'RE THE sloppiest BAND IN THE WORLD but I really don't give a fuck!!!"
or we could just stowe HIM away under THE SHIP and make him wear a bucket on his sensitive HEAD!

AND THAT"S ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT!!

I would love to sing! That would be fantastic! I would just have to rustle up a band by then. I am currently "without band". Sigh...
But if I could rustle up a band by then, I'd love to be there!

There's a great Rockabilly gal named Barbara Burnette. She is a great guitar player. And she's lives here in Las Vegas. You should check her out!

I'm diggin' this idea... but on one condition. Book the cruise during storm season, because considering how much RAB'rs drink; combining all that booze with sea swells... hells yeah that'd be fun!

"Welcome to the SS Vomitorium!"

Other than that... 50's style fun & games- shuffleboard, limbo, Sheepshead, Poker-Smokers, wife & partner-swapping- y'know, the classics.

Good Bands
Good Food
Good Dance floors
Good Booze
Good People
Good Dance Lessons
A coupla 'themed' rooms- Tiki, Sock Hop, American Graffiti, etc.

I'm assuming there'll still be a car show?

Yeah. I know. I'm a shit. But I am damn good at it.
Yer pal, da Fezter

I'd love me some Junior Brown or BR549. And of course, having burlesque would rule! But you know I'm partial. Vendors would also rock along with the usual fun and games, bingo, old movie night, etc. Too bad no car show though. Tee hee!

You need some FIREWORKS!!! Should there be a car show involved, it would be great entertainment to get a honda engine, drain it of all it's fluids, hook it up to run WIDE OPEN and let it do so until it blows the head off!!!

Think of it as a sacrificial offering. A total spectacle and good 'ol fashioned science all wrapped up in one!!

are you KIDDING ME??!!! A rockabilly cruise? That many de-gorgeous boys and girls in one space, with nowhere to go but the open sea? We could just play bingo all night and I'd be happy!!
NYC, though an awesome town, has very little of the rockabilly scene in town.....

You may have to lock me up somewhee on the ship if I get too out of hand!
Yippee!

Okay, sorry....now that my hormones are under control...
How about The Flapjacks and (oooh!) Dave Venian and the Phantom Chords? (maybe a cruise will lure them out of the UK?)

I'll strip for thier charitable expatriation!
