Who Gives Kudos:

Monday, July 24, 2006

While this isn't to make a huge deal out of something that really isn't, its probably fair to assume that most people reading this might care in some small or large way...

We've decided that following our last scheduled show on September 8th in Pittsburgh, we're going to be taking a break indefinitely.  In addition to everything hectic and otherwise draining happening in our lives, Andy is planning on taking classes in the fall in addition to working full-time, which is going to give him little time to continue playing music on a regular basis.  Rather than continue on with some hope of finding someone else who will fit with us on both a musical and personal level, we have decided that TSLL should stop if it isn't going to be the three of us.

It feels sort of silly to use the word 'hiatus' or to even announce this, as it seems like it should be reserved for bands on big labels and/or whose continued possibility of existing ensures continued record sales.  It doesn't necessarily mean that we won't play any more shows down the road, or even possibly write some more music together, but for the time being we probably won't be doing so.

So we'd like to thank everyone who has contributed in any way to what the sea, like lead is/was - everyone who had kind words to say, who helped us with our brief tours or asked us to play shows, the bands we've played with, the friends we've made and the friends who have always been there for us... But most especially anyone who has just been patient and listened.  There are so many people making music right now, so many bands touring and putting out records... so that you heard us despite that infinite cacophany of voices means more than fragile words can express.

As Jo and I plan to continue playing together, we will be sure to get the word out when something new comes about.  I don't doubt we'll continue to make music that we love, and hopefully you can once again be a part of it.

Thank you again and much love
Jeremy & tsll

i just found out about you guys maybe a week ago and honestly, you are soooo amazing, words cannot express the emotions your music fills me with, i know such high praise is ridiculous, you guys are just kids who love ands play music, but you deserve it for creating an unseen force that can last longer than anyone can conceive, thank you for playing music

You will be missed. I had always hoped to make it to one of your shows or that you would pass through Portland. Good luck in your future efforts. I look forward to hearing it.

Be Well,

Jason
