I met Taeji Sawai in 2004 but I've been following his work since earlier. He's more into arts than music actually. As a member of the portable[k]ommunity, he's realized some sound/visual installations and performed in Europe and USA. On top of that he also works as a producer for the japanese pop singer Aco and takes part of the new techno label op.disc launched by Fumiya Tanaka and Yoshihiro Hanno. Teaji alway pushes technology to its limit. Very talented artist and very humble, as most of japanese artists I've met by the way. And he always wears great tee-shirts!
This year he did a performance at Sonar. I expected a lot from him and I must say he just amazed me. Watch the video below. He's using sensors and making a wall of noise, literally.
