Democracy doesn't work. :)

Put 9 Hitlers in a room with 1 Einstein.
Put 9 Richard Dawkins in a room with one Gandhi.
Put 9 Edisons in at room with one Telsa.

Show me how democracy works?

I've seen all my life being in groups,
when there is only 1 pundit/genius/knowledgeable person in the group,
the rest ignore that person, unless that person has a huge charisma/ego/OBVIOUS talent.
But then wise people normally don't have that.
Wise people are full of doubts and the stupid are cocksure.

And does country-wide democracy really exist?
America and elsewhere doesn't have democracy.

Japan is run by religious cult + mafia.
USA is run by sociopathic militant industrialists.

etc.

No democracy in action there. :-P
No one voted in Bush.

Even if you seriously believe Bush was voted in, it proves the point once again. Democracy doesn't work. Imbeciles/ignorants will end up running the group. A case of the blind following the blind?

I experience this everyday when I enter the world of the humans.
I follow a "terra forming astronaut" diet or the "star trek" diet consisting of no meat/animals or drugs. A diet of water, vegetables and fruit.
And no nicotine/alcohol/cola/coffee etc.

But when I go out side people think my diet is "CRAZY" or "WEIRD".
Yes, for them eating only Vegetables and Fruit is WEIRD. Meanwhile I'm more healthy and my energy is maximised while my ageing process is slower than others. And they still consistently keep asking:

"why do you look so young at THAT age?"

How do I feel? I feel humans are pretty much idiots, and democracy doesn't work. So I have to put up with them, their ignorance and their bad ill advised diets everywhere I go. Surrounded by sick, ill and unhealthy people telling ME that I'm the WEIRD one, while they again have another "cold" or are feeling ill once again.
Meanwhile millions of animals are suffering, and the environment is being screwed up, and I have no power to stop it, and why? because:
democracy favours the ignorant.

Ah the human race, gotta love them.

Wow, I couldn't agree more. Great read on your views and I must say, it's very intelligent. (No pun intended.
)

I've always been more of the quiet one. Thinking before I speak or just not speaking at all because I don't want to get involved in the world of the "idiots." It is inevitable of course, but I'd rather have a close knit group of friends that I actually like rather than having tons of friends that are mindless and just follow whatever is spoon fed to them.

Am I liberal? No. Am I republican? No. Someone really shouldn't classify themselves as such and get involved in a group and all. Just be yourself, form your own views, and go from there. I tried inventing my own political system before, but of course it will be flawed, even if made by the most intelligent person. Human error for one, and error in other humans that follow it or choose not to.

Democracy is something that only really works on paper. Just like Socialism. No matter how hard you try, someone is going to want to be above everyone else. The thirst for power. This though, isn't exactly bad in a sense. The masses do infact need a wise ruler to make decisions and give orders. Without that, you have anarchy which means everything falls apart and society goes back into the dark ages. Society needs people to make decisions for others, even though we may not always agree with them. Democracy is essentially, the majority rules. What if the majority of people are stupid? Most people tend to go with the majority just because it's the majority. Hitler did have many smart ideas and plans, but the holocaust and his racial views make him out as a maniac and a monster. But the point I'm getting at is, a small group of people managed to convert their views to the majority through propaganda. Propaganda is everywhere today, even if not intended. We see it when we go to watch certain movies, because that movie is promoting or demoting from whatever is seen. The masses watch this, and form new ideas and opinions based on it. If you see someone working as a fast food worker, usually isn't the movie intending to show how "bad" it is? It's spreading the idea.

Sadly, we all as humans are flawed. To be honest, it's probably the intelligence we possess that makes us flawed. Animals don't have wars, pollute, divorce, etc. Why? Most likely because they're too stupid to understand our "superior" knowledge. I am not saying technology is bad or that we should be stupid, just I think the smarter the world becomes, the dumber it becomes at the same time. We as a whole should work on morals and philosophy more than sciences. Philosophy isn't the end all of anything, just I believe we as an entire species will be more peaceful and decently thoughtful about everything. Science is marvelous, but it is ruining us when we don't know how to properly use it. Technology is making us more lazy and more prone to making irrational thoughts. If you say let's go for a jog, more people will say they'll just get out their exercise machine or watch TV aerobics.
Wouldn't it be better to go outside if you could?

I am happy to say I don't think you're weird at all. I think you're a very respectable person. It's always the minority that is considered weird, as I was too known for back in school. It's so evident in schools today when you mention the same people that you mentioned. Kids call Einstein weird, Gandhi as well.
Really, what defines weird? Is it just because it is not known or most people don't do it that makes you weird? What's to say the norm isn't what's actually weird?

People need to learn more, and I don't mean learning more science.
