TRAP THEM is such a viciously good band. This winter, a lot my free time went towards designing their 'Obstruction' shirt, available now from RELAPSE.
THE SHAKE 'EM UPS, some friends from Austin Texas, are also playing some killer music... they released their first cd just a couple months back and it's fun as hell. Somehow, something I drew ended up on the cover. I don't know how that happened, as I sure took a loooong time in getting it to em, but it looks kinda fancy and these guys make me super proud. I think you can buy a copy of that cd HERE or straight from them while on tour, which would be a fine time to meet these dazzling souls, as I bet they'll be headin to a dancefloor near you sooner than later. They made some shirts with the cover art on em, too, and I bet they'd like to trade you one for a little help with gas. HERE is a link to a ridiculously close-up view of said scribbles.
I work with these two movie nuts, Josh & Ted and they just recently started publishing a VHS/horror magazine of sorts called LUNCHMEAT. Their first issue is available HERE and the second should be kickin around doorsteps by Halloween. There are a couple of corny comicstrips I was able to draw up for 1, honorably included towards the omni-risque back pages. Expect another contribution for this next issue and if nothing else, pick up issue 1 just to dig the review of OCTAMAN! Absolutely essential viewing begats absolutely essential reading. Holy shit!
PINKO AND THE ACTION BOYS have pressed an LP! Yeah, -these assholes decided at some point to not break-up and then they wrote some more songs (ones you maine fuckers don't know by heart yet), recorded these songs and spent money on pressing all this fiasco onto twelve-inch vinyl discs. These particular circular items may find a home in your record collection as soon as THIS YEAR, if I can fully acknowledge that the time is NOW to understand that:
1.) I am no longer bed-ridden and horribly sick as shit (art=excruciating) as the last few weeks knew me to be &...
2.) I have new 005 micron pens to unleash upon an agonizingly giant canvas of drawing paper, hosting incomplete gatefold-LP sleeve art, waiting for me back in my south philly bedroom, not yet carried off by cockroaches and water-dwelling bugs.
3.) Carcass plays an hour from here tomorrow. You might be able to understand how that's somewhat important.
...more crud in the works.
