So I was flying over Rancho Santa Fe today. Well I was looking around and I saw this house that I saw on the news. It was a futuristic looking place and I remember what the asking price was for the mansion. 70 milliion dollars. Now think of this. With property taxes, SDGE, all the gardeners, maids, cooks, and the local fees that get collected just so you have the oppurtunity to live in Rancho Santa Fe you have to figure out that the guy is paying at least a million a year to keep the place running.(not including the mortgage.) This is why I hate the mega-rich. Not the rich, they're cool, but the bastards that have more money then they know what to do with. Someone would have to be an idiot to buy that place. The way the housing market is going. You buy a place with a adjustable rate mortgage, because God knows you aren't going to get a flat rate on it, and in a few years because the economy is doing so good you are up to 9% interest rates again. Thats just under 7 million dollars a year you are paying in interest. Not even touching principle. So after that happens you can't afford the place and you end up loosing your down payment and all the equity you have put in the place. Now your sleeping on the streets. At least you can say it was good while it lasted...
