Indeed. Stranger things have happened, but I've been nominated for an A.I.R (Australian Independent Record) Award, which is quite lovely indeed. Particularly, as I only discovered this fact by reading a forum post on a certain dance-music website.



Nominated without being informed. I sort of like that.

The info and spiel can be found here, on this rather heavily alcohol-branded website - I'm certainly in accomplished company in the "Dance/Electronica" section, and very touched that "Departure" was nominated - an unexpected finding after the previous album, "Lifetime" was nominated for "Album Of The Year" in the 2007 Australian Dance Music Awards.

Other news in the deepchild world includes the gratifying awarding of a US 0-1 "Exceptional Ability" visa, with much thanks to my wonderful agents at Symbiosis, in SanFrancisco. I'm currently putting together a much-overdue return tour to the US, due to start in late Feb 2010...stay posted.

Next up in release-world my a new 12" for Trapez, "Backroom", as well as new 12"s for SubContinental Dub and Breakout Audio, due this month...BLAP!
