there is a massive turtle race going on right now. 11 leatherback turtles are swimming from canada to the carribean. conservationists have tagged them with satellite transmitters so we can monitor them. they've also given them names like 'billy' and 'esteban' - we're backing one called 'seabiscuit'. The winner is supposed to cross the finish line early next week. So nows the time to place your bets (give donations)

that is awesome. thanks for the post, this is something I'd like to participate in. I used to help the Turtle Lady on South Padre Island when I was a kid and have been interested in turtles since then. seeing the baby Ridleys make their way to the Ocean is really kind of intense, all those little flipper trails in the sand..... :)
