We have upwards of four thousand fans who attend each of our bouts.

Today’s roller derby makes use of a flat track and does not involve choreography or staged fighting. The Naptown Roller Girls work hard to stay in shape—we train six to eight hours a week on skates, not counting all the extra physical training we do outside of scheduled practice times. We are serious about our sport!

On average, a Naptown Roller Girl completes 4,680 crunches per year. We do approximately 3,120 push-ups, and that’s not to mention how many miles we skate!

Roller derby has regional and national tournaments and a national governing body: the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (http://wftda.com).

The Naptown Roller Girls league is run by the skaters, for the skaters. The league operates as a non-profit organization. If the league ever disbands, all the funds held in the Naptown Roller Girls accounts will be donated to local charities.

Naptown Roller Girl skaters do not get paid to play. In fact, each member of the league must pay league dues each month to help fund operations.

Women of all ages—from 18 and up—are welcome to skate with the Naptown Roller Girls.

The first rule of roller derby: Don’t get pregnant! (That’s a joke.) But many of our Naptown Roller Girls are already mothers. They divide their time between raising children, working, roller skating, and working out to stay in shape!
