I was sitting today listening to the Millie Jackson Channel on Pandora radio on my iphone... and one artist kept coming up in the rotation. Ann Sexton's "I'm his wife and you're just a friend." wow.. you know i never heard of her... until the first time I listen to the song a few months ago... Now.. I'm neo soul type.. (Maxwell... Erykah badu, Jill Scott ... Balil.. etc ) but just tonight I realized there are many other soul artist that i have never heard of that really deep lyrics..

Okay when I was a kid my dad usta blast the blues... he own a bar/lounge back in the early eighties and had many different soul artist come in a perform. now as a kid.. i really didn't it.... My mom had use in church ever sunday.. singing the choir and we get home..... a start singing .. "i'm catching Hell, by Natilie cole, or "because i love you by lenny williams, whoever was latest artist at that time... so yeah i grew up in the night club and the church... and I'm pretty balanced..... so.. back to the low down dirty blues.. now that I'm older i actually like the same music that I hated growing up.... who wants to listen to grown men and women whine about how their man or women left them..... hmmm I do.

:) so starting to today i'm gonna post new old artist that i rediscover.
