Houston SleepOut, sponsored by SEARCH Homeless Services’ Young Ambassadors, is a fund-raising event to be held on November 14, 2009.
SEARCH’s Young Ambassadors
group aims to communicate the issues of homelessness and transform
lives by connecting with young professionals in a meaningful way.
For a minimum $100 donation, individuals and teams will SleepOut under the stars in Sesquicentennial Park, promoting awareness and understanding for those who have no place to call home.
Participants
will raise funds by asking friends, family and others in their
community to sponsor their commitment to the project as “Sleepers”,
those who will actually spend the night at the event. That evening,
participants will be served dinner and enjoy a “Faces of Homelessness”
program in which individuals who have overcome their struggles will
tell their stories.
All proceeds benefit SEARCH Homeless Services,
a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless men, women and
children get off the streets and into jobs and affordable housing.
Please join us. One night can make a difference for others in need. YOU can make a difference!
