Hi Everybody,

As usual, I don't have much time to post this, but wanted to share my thoughts on a very important issue. It's been in the news that the other night a Peta member threw some flour on Lindsay Lohan for wearing fur. Lindsay's girlfriend Samantha Ronson wrote a widely-publicized blog denouncing the flour-tossing (http://www.myspace.com/samantharonson). So, I sent her a comment saying how I was sorry for them being startled, etc, but it does not compare to the heinous, sick torture of millions of innocent, feeling animals every year. They approved it, and I'd like to share this information with whomever is not informed about the horrors of the fur trade. I'm sure lots of young girls look up to these celebrities as role models…

Thanks so much,
Jackie

I'm sorry that you two were startled, but the reality is there is NO comparison between horrendously cruel violence against animals & some flour. In videos, I've seen the horrific tortures, which included the skinning of an innocent raccoon while it was still alive, to how animals of all kinds get their legs snagged with spiked steel traps (some are lucky enough to chew their own legs off to be able to escape!!!), to the "protection" of the "furriers'" product by killing the animals by shoving an electrified prod up their anuses (to avoid spilling blood on their fur). I became educated about these sick & nightmarish practices as a teenager & now I invite you two to use this experience as an opportunity. To try viewing one of these educational videos & become educated yourself and then use your celebrity for a good cause by boycotting fur and raising awareness on what sick tortures are occurring and that there ARE alternatives to wearing these poor, sensitive creatures' skin. A whole new generation of young girls look up to people like you and YOU can make a difference.

Here's a video of Martha Stewart talking about why she NO LONGER is wearing fur:
