I am sad to say that one of the very finest bassists in the world has passed.
Dave Carpenter played on many great CD's and toured with many artists including:
Alan Holdsworth, Larry Carlton, Buddy Rich and many others.

He was a great man, who loved to laugh and he loved to play his bass.
He could read flyspecks on the page and still groove like crazy.
When my friend drummer Kirk Covington brought Dave to the first session, it was like magic.

Dave laid down the fine slamming bass tracks on 3 of the songs from my Big Bang CD:
Spontaneous Combustion, Hail Bop, and Quantum Leap.
You can hear them on my profile.

I wanted him to play in the studio this summer on a song called Warp Speed.
It was a perfect fusion song for him to shine on..
But wait...
We played an outdoor music festival a few years back with Dave Carpenter on bass, Toss Panos on drums, Greg Bartheld ..s and me on guitar and vocals...and we video taped it.
We are going to try to isolate Dave's bass and put him on one last song...Warp Speed!

We will miss you Dave...Thank you for making me sound good.

Go forth into the source and shine on my friend...

HATS OFF TO DAVE CARPENTER! A fine musician in an age of soul-less programming! Sorry you lost a good friend, Tony.
