Category: Life

Emerging from the darkness, newly born, shivering, thrust into the beaming light of a new reality

Cleaned up, bundled and placed into loving arms, we surrender

Vulnerable, needing, wanting, we cry out for comfort

Fed, absorbing, digesting, learning, we grow

Gaining strength, learned behavior, testing and being tested, we grow to understand

From the darkness of inherited ignorance, from the darkness and fear of the unknown

In the darkness the attacks ensue, in the darkness the poisonous darts find their mark

The sting of wounds cruelly inflicted and the anguish of self-inflicted wounds, we fight to recover

In the darkness we can lose ourselves, yet in the darkness self can be discovered

Emerging into the light, bruised but not broken

Still standing, illuminated in wisdom, stronger for having fought a good fight

No trumpets will blow in victory, no fan fare will greet you

No trophy will be awarded, no applause will be heard

Just you, in the light, naked, revealed, yet shielded in truth

Standing naked, there will be some who will point and mock you

While still standing, alone amongst many who have been in the dark places too

You see each other and know the truth and silently nod in understanding...in the light...we have been reborn

...and that re-birth affords us the opportunity for growth!

Yes it does! Out of every experience should come a rebirth of understanding. Not an outward perception, but an introspection...how we deal with ourselves while passing through or growing from an experience.

Thanks Sandi

Literary scrunchiness, Joeski you just need to put the gitbox down...(just for a minute) and publish an erstwhile book of your artistic musings. You have forever realized the anomaly of life and heard the vibratory strings of inner spirit. I celebrate you today my brother. Continue to be a inspiration and a true artist. Glad I can count you friend and brother. Keep makin' it do what it do, and be what it be. Ha...TTYL Butch

Dear Joe....Last Christmas, I was watching television and there was someone sharing the Word. The whole theme was around, What God doesn't restore, he replaces. There are some situations that we've been in that were never good for us and we never saw it then. We tried to repair, to reform the situation, the thing, the individual. We did our part and we did our part even in earnest prayer. I think many times because we have been taught to believe that to leave the thing, person (s), or situation would be to show a lack of faith in God, or that it would indicate failure, we end up staying, and toxifying our entire beings.....In the interim, God would have provided alternatives through His grace, since He is not a God of bondage, and we would not have seen his provision, because we were schooled, churched or socialized to see our freedom in Him, within such narrow parameters, that we have come to accept unhappiness or joylessness as a cross to bear for His sake.....Let us understand, that He sees us individually, and that they are things he communicates to us. Sometimes, we put others on pedestals who seem to be authorized to receive His message on our behalf and we give up our right and our confidence in our own relationship with Him. He speaks peace to us in a way that suits our unique situation. He brings gifts to us in a way that suits our own unique situations. He ministers to our deepest desires in a way that reflects that he knows us inside out. Our friends don't know us inside out, our ministers do their best but they don't know us inside out. I am convinced that He communicates what we need very keenly and that there is far too much including very legitimate sources, which clutter us and prevent us from hearing Him and seeing His provision.....He gives us opportunities and we miss, He brings us the possibility of healthy relationships and we miss them, He puts things in front of our very noses and we don't see them. He also shows us where evil, harm, and perniciousness lie and we still have commerce with the purveyors of it and let them into our mental and physical spaces. What more do we want Him to do.....I pray that the eyes of our discernment would become keener. We need to take back our hearts, minds and spirits from the places that do not nurture them.....Love....Jenn

I'm finding that the more I've learned, the more I need rebirth...re-inforcement of self. Rebirth brings a fresh start... a new canvas of life.....Thanks Arlyne!

I have read this so often now, Joe because of how deep, honest and powerful it is. "No trophy will be awarded". Your trophy is within in terms of knowing how you've been healing and growing. A part of one's trophy in life perhaps is also where we have seen and experienced unconditional love - Love that did not wait for our circumstances to change for the better, before it spoke, acted, responded, caressed us, held us close, saw the beauty within us, and forsaw and prayed for and willed, and called it done and gave thanks for the fulfillment of what is best in us. In these experiences, is the energy that can drive us forward in spite of................ I know it to be so.............Deeply,......Jenn
