somehow, a week or so ago, i was possessed and told some people very special to me i'd offer some paintings (done by me) for an auction to benefit the Friends of Greyhounds rescue. (which i adore)
so i went and bought about 100$ worth of painting accessories, such as canvases, cheap paintbrushes, palettes, and a dollar-store shower curtain. (to protect the floors) i already had a student's set of acrylic paints.
i spent the entire day painting! i learned cheap brushes are like cheap veterinarians-not always good, but you find more good than bad. i managed to salvage about 25 brushes that work well for me and don't shed.
my first attempt was so unsightly, i threw it away and would prefer that that bastard child decomposes nicely in the local landfill.
but my second creation? i like it, but am not 100% satisfied. i don't think it's too good. but i can only get better, not worse, right?
so, here it is for your review. my Olympus took some pretty crummy pics of it, i don't know why it screwed up the colors. but any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. and lets all not say "it looks great!" because everything can be improved upon. any suggestions-let me have them! i need to improve my artwork, and grow up beyond markers and sharpies and pencil drawings.
