Hello people of earth!!! ….. Here we are smack dab in the middle of a cold winter, freezing our asses off in hopes that soon we will be a warmer, drought-proud nation once again!!!

The band has been very busy finishing off songs for the anticipated 2nd release, due out late this year.   The first single off the EP is titled ‘Red Tape’ .

The band has been living underground surviving on ultra violet light, rice and a strong dose of Scott Walker albums…. And we are all but ready for the single launch, due within the next four months depending on the war in Iraq and the global financial crisis….any other buzz words left to say?? Oh yes…. GLOBAL WARMING, fear the globe for it is warming!

The EP is MK Ultra http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_MKULTRA.  It combines a mixed blend of psychotic acid metal with a stronger emphasis on vocals and an electro attack. The band is utilising the entire vocalist line up this time, which has created an array of three part harmonies as well as the use of syth vocals and a few other tricks of the trade.

The EP is being engineered by Ian Prichard (Beautiful Girls, Angus & Julia Stone, Cog).  It was put on hold for 4 months after a tragic BMX accident that left Ian with a broken rib, clavicle and arm, all in the name of extreme sports.

Thanks to the good doctors of NSW, advances in stainless steel technology and leftover guitar strings, they stuck him back together.  Doctors say it’s the human condition that healed him so fast….I just think he has a healing factor, claws and heightened senses. The EP will be mastered by Don Botley at 301 studios with the help of Ian navigating in the distant corner.

Starting August, Superb Lyrebird will demo the final songs for the EP. All songs will be produced by the band as they have always done…and look out for the Official Superb Lyrebird Website - due soon!

Speak soon all :)
