Hi from Melbourne,
Had a couple of great warmup gigs here over the weekend.
Saturday night was at the rosstown hotel which, despite initial appearances, turned out to be a great sounding, well layed out venue. It was nice to see some SA friends there who were still celebrating their trip over to see the Crows on friday night. And despite the ambulance service being called for a poor woman who had a pancreatitis attack at the end of the night, everyone seemed to have a good time. It definitely was an interesting end to the evening with initial thoughts being that she had suffered a heart attack, to be later wrongfully diagnosed as a bad case of reflux. (we still maintain that she was one of the many victims of bass player, sam's (Clancy) knee trembling posturing)
Sunday at The Old Homestead, fitzroy, wasn't without incident either. After some initial PA problems, some quick thinking, a few phone calls and a rush across North Melbourne to borrow some stuff off of Goose's Dave Palmer, it was all go. The Swedes settled into a nice set at the cosy Homestead, gathering some more new friends.
Now it's rehearsals all week before the weekend gigs. This brings us to the main reason for this weeks email.
For those of you planning to come down and see us in Mt Gambier, unless you have other business there, please save your petrol. Unfortunately, Bill has had to cancel this gig, so we won't be able to make it there either. It's a little hiccup for us and we hope it doesn't put too many of you out................
More news soon..............
Meanwhile............. get out and see some local, live music.
Cheers
Huckleberry Swedes
