So...it's hot. It is, in fact, summer, and not perhaps the best time to jump into a recording situation in an insanely hot loft, but because we prefer to work in extreme conditions and see how this can perhaps even affect our music in positive and tender ways, we are endeavoring to craft our next record. That was a long sentence.
I am listening to some amazing music-and realizing the gratification there is in knowing that so much of my amazing music collection is created by wonderful people I/we are lucky enough to see on a regular basis, share bagels with, swim in rock quarries with, etc. I am pleased to be surrounded by such a vast array of bands who all continue to be a part of the diverse and supportive music community in Boston, MA.
If you haven't already, please check out the following bands and their special music:
Ho-Ag
Helms
Polaris Mine
Big Bear
The Stairs
Victory At Sea
Certainly, Sir
The Snow Leopards
The Living Sea
Tiny Amps
Dear Leader
Karate
Kayo Dot
Garvey J
Mary Timony
Appommattox
Night Rally
Animal Hospital
Shore Leave
I think this list is too short and will need to be continued. Note* this is quite sincerely a "please listen" list. Too many great bands exist in relative obscurity compared to main stream radio artists.
Cheers,
Kristina
