It's been a long time since I have posted a blog here because I have been super busy!
A bunch of new projects have come my way and I am very excited to tell you guys about it!
First: The Shmack Attack!
It's the name of a new band I am in with all my roommates! (Yes, I live with 5 other musicians...!). We play a lot of funky covers (Jamiroquai, Michael Jackson,; Corinne Bailey Rae, Amy Winehouse...) arranged by the great Assaf Gleizner (keyboardist of the band).
We also play some amazing compositions by Wayne Tucker, the trumpet player of the band. It's a great band for parties and getting people to dance all night!
Secondly: The Cherries on Top
This (also a funny band name!) is a trio of singers accompanied by pianist Assaf Gleizner. He arranges jazz standards, bossa novas and pop songs into three part vocal harmonies! It is kind of the same idea than the Andrew Sisters, but more modern.
The great thing about it is that each singer has her own peculiar style. Kim Hawkey is a Broadway trained singer, the French chanson is Amelie Cherubin's forte, and I am the jazzy one. Although sometimes when Amelie can't make it I become the French one and Laura Brunner takes over the jazz parts.
Then: Pacha Massive
This Dominican group has just released their second album, "If You Want It", which got 1st place in the Latino Alternative section on iTunes. Nova, the band leader, adopted me to be the new singer of the group. We have already done some concerts and it seems like I am going to be traveling quite a lot with them...
Last, but not least: My new CD is coming up!
This summer I went on tour in Brazil with the amazing guitar player Diego Figueiredo. The chemistry was amazing and we decided to take two days in a studio and record something! A beautiful guitar and voice duo record is on its way...
