Current mood:  breezy

Course ran through the trees, undergrowth hitting her muzzle and she tried to outrun the human chasing her. Even in her paws it was hard to outrun him. She knew his scent and knew who he was without even seeing his face. She leapt over a fallen log and hid. She heard his footsteps, and felt anger rise. This was her home, and he had no right to be here. She let out a howl, hoping to scare him away, but instead she heard his booming laugh and the cock of his rifle. She wanted to protect her territory, and as he passed, she lunged. He fell and she pinned him down. He smacked her muzzle, making her angrier. As he struggled for his gun, she went for the throat, biting down, suffocating him. She let go only when he shuddered one last time. She howled in triumph and sorrow. She had wanted it to be him so badly, but it was only his kin.

Narcissa watched from the shadows ,lurking could be a good word to describe her actions, as teenagers possessed the streets; laughing and playing around. Neither of them had any idea what monsters hid in the dark. Monsters like me, Narcissa thought angrily. Her heels clicked against the pavement with each step as she pursued the group of teenagers. She felt the beast inside her raging, wanting... thirsting for their blood. She surveyed one of the girls' neck, hearing the blood course through her body. She tore her gaze away with a growl. Not gonna happen, she thought as she threw herself into the shadows once more. She had really wanted to drink from the girl, to drain her body of all life. Thoughts plagued Narcissa as she continued to watch the busy streets, unaware of being watched.

Course circled her kill, obviously peeved at who he was, but still satisfied that he was kin to the man. She buried her muzzle in his stomach, taking her fill. She loped off, licking the blood from her paws. The shadows hid her as she heard the other hunters of his pack coming to find what had caused the ruckus. Growling that there were still humans in her forest, she silently walked towards the humans. She howled from the shadows and they scurried off. 'I'll have to post more signs tomorrow.' she thought as they headed for the town just a few miles outside of her trees. She turned and ran back to her prey, dragging him to her small cabin, to save for later.

Narcissa smiled bitterly, her lengthened fangs glistening under the moonlight. The novel in her hand read of vampires living in crypts and dark places. How stereotypical, she scoffed quietly. Narcissa lived in a two bedroom apartment, with heavy draped hanging over the windows. Right now those heavy drapes were pulled open, allowing the silver glow of the moon to wash upon her room. She tossed the novel aside, having read it a million times before, and stood up to look out the window. Chills raced along her spine, her spider sense tingling. Someone... or something was watching her. Her mossy green eyes quickly scanned the streets, but she saw no one. How strange, she thought, my senses have never been wrong. She turned on her bare heel and walked towards the bathroom to shower, wondering what in heaven and hell was going on.

Course stretched as she changed into her human form. She dressed and placed her meat boy in her freezer. The moon was up and she was bored. "May as well go into the town and see the humans." she sighed. Even in human form, Course had the speed of a wolf, as she ran skillfully through her trees. She reached the edge of town and slunk through the shadows. The smells of the city engulfed her. She sniffed at everything, memorizing and finding things she could trust. She smelled something odd, as she always did when in the city. But this time, she knew where the smell was coming from. She crept over to a large building and stared up at a large window. She saw a woman appear and moved deeper into the shadows. When she turned though, Course ran off to the butcher.

The next night was gorgeous, the sweet aroma of blossoms rode the wind as Narcissa wandered the busy streets. She reached up and pulled the chopstick from her hair, letting the burgundy brown strands rain down on her shoulders. The blossoms mixed with the hot scent of human blood and made her stomach twist violently; the scent was so intoxicating. She struggled with her demon for a moment, stumbling and gasping. She walked around a building and leaned against the cold brick wall, holding a hand to her chest, clutching, finger nails digging. Pain always brought her back. She inhaled deeply through her mouth, sucking in all the air she could before releasing it slowly. The scent of something different teased her senses and she lifted her head, suddenly transfixed on the newly found aroma. It was sweeter than anything she'd ever smelled before. Pushing herself away from the wall, she went in search for the addicting scent.

Course wandered through the street. Still peeved about the conversation she had had with her uncle the night before. She had entered the butchers shop to ask her uncle a question, and ended up having a heated argument with him. He should have told her, he should have told her that there was blood drinker here. She didn't mind vampires, she really didn't. She had even had friends who were vampires, but she didn't trust them. They were just as ruthless as her while hunting, but she knew when she had to stop. Most vampires were slaves to their bloodlust. She growled, startling the people passing her. but she didn't take notice. She had to find the undead in the city, she had to know if she could trust her, or if she would have to stock up on stakes. She let her eyes go black, surveying the scene. Her wolf eyes allowed her to see more clearly in the dark. She heard someone panting in the alleyway, and she smelled that smell. Course ran off to the building near by and climbed to the rooftops. She wanted to find this vampire, but she didn't want to be seen.

Narcissa traveled through the alleyways, sniffing the air. It seemed as if the scent was right there, just out of her reach. A noise alerted her senses and she froze all movement. She gasped, crying out as something collided into her, knocking her over. She laid there on her back, the impact knocked her breathless and made her dizzy.

Course watched from the rooftop, gasping as the girl got hit buy the motorcycle. The driver was startled but decided to drive off, leaving her alone. Course was about to go and help when she noticed that this was her vampire. She huffed, trying to decide what to do. She sat on the roof, staring down at the fallen girl, knowing she would stand soon.

Her body ached as Narcissa pushed herself up off the ground, slowly getting to her knees. She hadn't realized she'd started blushing until she felt the odd warmth flood her cheeks. "Damn it!" She cursed angrily and flipped off the driver, who was now long gone. She crawled over the wall on hands and knees, using the wall to support her weight. It wasn't so much that she was hurt, but that she felt ridiculous and ashamed for allowing herself to be so captivated by the sweet scent. She sighed and for the first time since she'd been turned, Narcissa felt like crying. Why? She didn't fully understand why. She only knew that, at that moment, she felt so much like giving up... "Being a vampire freaking sucks!" She said out loud, whining pathetically, not realizing someone had been watching her.

Course tilted her head as the girl said she didn't like being a vampire. 'odd' she thought. most vampires were happy being undead. "hmm" she hadn't noticed she made the noise out loud, as she sat thinking. Course scratched at her ear, and stretched. 'I wonder why she doesn't like being a vampire.' "hmm" she made the sound again as she lay down on the tiles. 'maybe I can trust her.'

Narcissa perked, ears straining to hear. She looked up. Had she really heard anything? Had it been her imagination? She decided to investigate.

Course yawned, looking away for only a moment. She turned her head, and stretched her neck, and when she glanced down, she noticed the vampire was gone. 'fuck!' she thought 'where did she go.' Course sniffed the air, but couldn't get a direct scent, the vampires scent was everywhere at once. 'damn it.' she stood and jumped to the adjoining rooftop. 'where are you?' she thought to herself.

Narcissa quietly climbed the fire escapes, Her skirt billowed in the wind behind her and the breeze ran its invisible fingers through her hair. The scent was overwhelming her, suffocating her, claiming her. She was trembling by the time she reached the top, breathless with excitement. She saw no one on the rooftop, but the scent was strong. "Damn." Narcissa cursed. Whatever held the scent was gone now, but she was determined to find its owner.

Course crouched on the rooftop. She had jumped across four buildings and still could not see the vampress. Her scents was all through the air and it was hard to track where it was coming from. She leapt to the next building, and decided to sit and try to clear her head, and try to catch where the scent was strongest. She sat and closed her eyes her ears perked and head tilted. She wanted so desperately to change, she could find the vampire easier in her fur, but she knew that if someone saw her in her fur, a hunting party would be dispatched. It was odd enough seeing a person climbing rooftops, but a large wolf, an human sized wolf, running through town, she couldn't risk it. So she sat, trying to clear the scents running through the winds.

Narcissa's eyes, glazed with a sudden lust, surveyed the rooftops. The owner had to be here somewhere. They couldn't have just disappeared, Narcissa thought irritably. She was frustrated and the scent was starting to complicate her thoughts, making her mind spin. She stumbled forward, intoxicated and almost high, as the scent rode strongly on the wind. Somewhere..., Narcissa thought as she placed her hands on her hips and closed her eyes, focusing her energy. She tried to clear her mind, tried to fight the drug-like scent. "This sucks soooo bad." She whispered, opening her eyes. "It's everywhere." She couldn't pinpoint the scent, therefore couldn't pinpoint the owner. "Oh, hell." She was about to give up when something caught her eye.

Course sat stone still, clearing her head. She was about to give up when the scent grew strong again. It almost knocked her backwards. 'wow.' she thought, it was so strong, and now she noticed, it was totally different from the other vampiric scents she knew. This vampress smelled..inviting. most smell old and dead and musty, no matter what. but this girl has a floral scent, she could still smell the usual vampire smells, but she also smelled a mix of flowers. it was intoxicating, and she lost track of her thoughts. Her eyes opened and she sat, trying to gain her focus again.

Narcissa knew it was not likely that her eyes weren't playing tricks on her, not with how intoxicated she was feeling, but she wasn't so sure of it that she wasn't going to investigate. She silently jumped from the buildings top to the ground below, the impact making her legs feel like jell-o. That didn't matter much as she crept along the alleyway, trying to catch where the scent was strongest. On what building had she seen the figure on? Damn, she couldn't think. She took a chance and climbed the nearest fire escape. The scent had her struggling for breath, had her gasping for air, and yet she felt as if she never wanted to breathe again. She fought to keep her mind focused. Gotta find the owner, Narcissa chanted silently, her lips barely mouthing the words. And there she was, sitting in deep thought. She didn't want to startle the girl, not knowing exactly what she was, but she felt the need to say something, anything to hear her voice. Did she sound just as sweet as she smelled? Looking at her, Narcissa decided that the girl definitely looked as good as she smelled. She smirked and watched, waiting for the girl to notice her presence

Courses ear twitched and she heard a small sound behind her. She tilted her head, just slightly, just enough to see behind her. and there was the vampress. Startled, Course jumped forward, crouched low on all fours, and growled, baring the large canines she had even in human form. She was angry at herself for not noticing the vampress sooner, but it was slowly fading as the scent of the beauty in front of her engulfed her. Still growling, she sat, and stared at the vampire. She tilted her head.

Narcissa watched in fascination as the girl growled, crouching low on all fours. Narcissa's hands balled up at her sides, nails digging into her palms. She was losing it, big time, to someone she didn't even know. Something boiled in the pit of her stomach and she carefully met the girls eyes, It was a dangerous thing to do, not knowing exactly what she was, though her imagination was on a roll. "what are you?" The question rolled of her tongue before she could stopped them. She stood frozen, hoping the question didn't offend, or make her sound stupid. She didn't need to be embarrassed a second time that night.

Course almost laughed at the question that escaped the vampires lips. what was she? well that was easy. "I'm a werewolf." she stated simply, her voice slightly scratchy. She didn't talk much, mostly she just did her usual wolf mannerisms, so when she talked it was quiet and hoarse. "My name is Course Rose." she growled slightly and tilted her head, "and who are you, vampress?

Narcissa giggled at the title. "I'm Narcissa Shae."

Course smiled at the giggle that escaped the girls lips. She found the vampress to be adorable. "well Narcissa, how long have you been in this city?" Course had lived in these woods for years, and she had never seen the vampire. she wanted to know when she had come here.

"No more than 2 months ago." Narcissa spoke softly, remembering the events that caused her to leave her home so suddenly. Pain tore at her heart, but she fought it off, digging her nails deeper into the palms of her hands.
Course tilted her head, as she noticed the pain in the girls eyes. She didn't want to push her, or make her angry. so instead she just nodded. Then she smelled the blood. She looked at Narcissa's hand and saw it dripping. "you're bleeding." she said, staring at the dripping liquid.

Narcissa looked down at her hands, startled to see the crimson liquid clinging to her skin. Droplets fell to the ground. She instantly hid her hands behind her back and stared carefully at Course. She was unsure of what to say, how to reply.

Course stood and walked carefully over to the vampire. She didn't know how she would react to Course being so close. But before the vampire could do anything, course grabbed her hand and licked the wounds. "Vampires may heal quickly, as do my kind. But Werewolves lick wounds to help the healing process." she explained. "its in our saliva. It helps the healing process of werewolves," she said as she watched the wounds begin to close, " and vampires."

Narcissa was stunned, afraid almost, as Course licked at her wounds. It was strangely erotic and lit a fire in the pit of Narcissa's stomach. She swallowed hard and resisted the urge to pull away from the girls mouth.

Course felt Narcissas hesitation, and she could smell her fear, but she didn't care, she just wanted her to stop bleeding. Course felt as though she was on fire, and she shuddered as she pulled away from Narcissa. She was blushing, and she stumbled on her words, still wondering how a vampire could get her so flustered, " The night, is, um, half over, and I uh I need to hunt. If you want to join me, you can. You can have the blood, if...if you're thirsty."

"How did you know?" Narcissa asked, backing away from the girl. "How did you know I didn't drink from humans?"

Course tilted her head, obviously amused. "your scent. Most vampires smell of the dead, but you smell sweet, floral. I realized that it was because you don't drink from humans. I only hunt in my woods. The only humans I hunt and kill are the ones who decide to ignore my signs and walk into my territory. They have all been warned. It's all in scent for a wolf. and you smell , well, good. Unlike the vampires that drink of human blood. You smell of nature."

Narcissa was blushing. "O-oh. um, s-s-sure." She stuttered. "Lead the way."

Course nodded and jumped down the fire escape, leading Narcissa to her woods, her home. As soon as they were in the trees, Course fell to all fours, urging the wolf to come forward. She felt her bones shift, her spine elongate, as well as her jaw. her ears grew and her fur sprouted. She howled in satisfaction as she let the wolf loose. She stretched and shook out her fur. she loved her wolf form, she spent most of her time in it. She turned to Narcissa, and sat, her tail wagging. She didn't want to scare her in wolf form, and wanted her to get used to her before they started to hunt.

Narcissa was fascinated. Even in her other form, Course was gorgeous. She found herself reaching out, carefully. She wanted to press her cheek the fur, but resisted the urge. She'd settle for just feeling the wolf girl's fur between her fingers. She was cautious, not wanting to startle her.

Course wagged her tail, the feeling of the other girls fingers petting her fur was amazing. It felt so good, that Course nuzzled her hand and twitched her ears, trying to signal her that it did feel good and that it was ok. She licked Narcissas hand and pushed her head into her hand, wanting Narcissa to pet her more and for her to be comfortable with her on wolf form

Course's fur was smooth beneath her hand. She knelt down beside the gorgeous canine. Her thoughts were melting into each other and before she knew what she was doing, she had her cheek pressed against the fur. Movement startled her and she jerked away, accidently tugging at the fur. Course barked and growled. Narcissa bit her lip, torn between apologizing to the wolf and surveying the land. She settled for doing both, with her attention on the land she murmured a soft, whole-hearted apology.

Courses ears went back as she noticed that she startled Narcissa. She licked her cheek to say it was ok, and then smelled what had startled her. She lowered herself to the ground and looked for her prey. There were two deer walking in the trees and Course bared her teeth and snarled. She took off into the woods, leaving Narcissa sitting in the grass. She pounced on the larger deer and took it down biting its neck and snapping the bones. Satisfied she cheerfully walked her prey back to Narcissa and dropped it in front of her.

Narcissa knew she should've been repulsed, but she found that she wasn't. She was actually envious. To kill so freely... Narcissa bared her fangs, ran a hand through her hair to hold it back, and hissed dangerously before sinking her fangs into the animals neck. The blood was still warm as it filled her mouth and slid down her throat. Blood spilled over her lips. She was unaware of the eyes staring at her, watching her, studying her every movement.

Course watched in fascination as Narcissa drank from the deer. She had never seen a vampire drink and it was interesting. She sat with her head tilted to the side, watching and waiting for her to finish so she could eat her fill.

After a few minutes had passed, Narcissa forced herself to pull away. She sat back on her heels, away from the animals dead body.

Course looked at Narcissa as she watched her force herself away from the deer. She licked her lips and ate what she wanted. Digging her teeth into the meat and tearing it away. She ate and backed off, licking the access from her paws.

Narcissa was unsure of what to do next as she sat on the grass, her knees aching beneath her weight. She stared at the werewolf in front of her, with question. It was nearly morning and Narcissa was too far out of town to make it without being scorched by the suns rays. She wasn't sure what she should do.

Course raised her ears and felt the heat. She knew the sun was rising. and she knew Narcissa wouldn't make it back to town in time. She whined to get her attention and ran to her. Gently biting her arm she motioned her to get on her back.

Narcissa bit her lip, tasting the dried blood. It tasted stale, but she didn't have time to try and clean herself up. She carefully placed herself on Course's back, holding onto her gently, careful not to pull any fur.

Satisfied Narcissa was safely on her back, Course took off running to her cabin. She only had a few minuted to get there, so she ran as fast as her legs would carry her. Winding through the trees she saw the sun rising. She reached the cabin and took Narcissa inside. She ran into her bedroom and lay her on the bed, closing the curtains with her teeth. When the room was blacked out, she walked into the bathroom to shift back, so she could talk to Narcissa.

Narcissa surveyed the room, taking in its originality. There were enough horror movies to fill a small storage space, books lined on shelves, and tons of stuffed animals. Narcissa found herself smiling. She was exhausted, but too excited to sleep. Adrenaline flooded her veins, even now, as she lay on the large bed, taking in Course's scent once again.

Course shook herself, willing the wolf into submission. but it would not go. She growled. She usually stayed in wolf form for hours, so when she changed it was either out of exhaustion or because she was bored, but now the wolf was fighting. She went to her closet for clothes and pulled some out with her teeth. Forcing a change was painful, no matter how may timed you did it. when it was easy, it was nice, but when forced, Course hated it. She pulled the human forward and let out a cry and she fell onto her side on the floor, her wolf gone. She grabbed her tee and threw it on as well as some pants, and just lay there to try and let the pain ease.

Narcissa listened to Course cry out, and was surprised to find that she genuinely cared for the wolf-girl. Her heart ached to comfort her, but Narcissa stayed where she was, afraid of how much control the girl had over her. In such a short time, the girl had managed to do something to Narcissa, and it was terrifying.

Course stood, her knees weak and her legs shaky. She had wanted to talk to Narcissa, but the force had left her exhausted. She grabbed onto the counter and slowly walked to the door. As she turned the corner, she saw Narcissa examining her room. She was about to tell her she could sleep in her room, and that she would sleep on the couch, when her legs gave out and she fell to the floor.

Narcissa heard something startling before realizing Course had collapsed to the floor, and it took all she had to get off the bed. The sun always weakened her; body, mind, and soul. It was as if she was slowly dying all over again. She hesitated before wrapping an arm around Course's shoulders and slid an arm beneath her knees, before lifting her. She growled and stumbled towards the bed, with Course in her arms. She carefully placed Course on the bed and bit her lip, pondering what she should do; lay with her or take the couch. With how Course was affecting her, she decided to take the couch.

Course awoke on her bed, confused. She looked at the clock, it was nine in the morning and she felt awake and refreshed. She stretched and went in search of Narcissa. She found her in the blacked out living room, curled up on the couch. Smiling to herself, Course went into the kitchen to make coffee.

Narcissa woke up to the sweet aroma of coffee tickling her senses. She stretched, making an odd sound between a yawn and a groan before gracefully removing herself from the couch. She folded the blanket and laid it over the back of the couch before quietly entering the kitchen. She leaned against the entry way and smiled, watching Course scurry around her kitchen.

Course grabbed two mugs and poured the coffee in, letting it cool, before placing ice into it. She went into her freezer and grabbed a steak and placed it into a skillet and began to cook her breakfast. When finished she cleaned her mess, put her steak on a plate, grabbed the coffee's and almost dropped it all as she jumped when she noticed Narcissa.

"Sorry." Narcissa whispered. Course just smiled, standing here awkwardly. It took Narcissa a few moments to respond by taking both of the mugs and setting them on the small, round table in the corner. As they sat down at the table, Narcissa said, "Thank you for letting me stay."

"I didn't want you to burn." Course said softly. She grabbed a knife and cut into her steak. Watching Narcissa out of the corner of her eyes as she drank her coffee. "you can come here and stay whenever you want." Course said suddenly.

Narcissa smiled softly, blushing a light pink. She didn't look up to meet Course's eyes as she whispered a tiny, "Thank you."

Course smiled and blushed, surprised by her own burst of bold behavior. She went into the kitchen to clean her plate, " I don't have friends anymore. you're the first actual contact I've had in five years." Course said, eyes glazing over as she remembered what had happened to her only friends years before.

Narcissa was curious as to the look in Course's eyes, but she bit her tongue and held her words. She, herself, had memories of pain, and had no intention of sharing them with someone she had known less than 24 hours. "So, uh... were b-born a werewolf?"

Course snapped back into reality. "Yes. My parents were both natural were's. and so I was born one. My uncle, the butcher in town, is one too. He is the only other contact I have in town. But he wont talk to me in human form. So I don't talk to him much, we usually end up arguing, and in wolf form, it can get pretty heated. When were you turned?"

"Two years ago." Narcissa forced a smile. "It was my 18th birthday."

Course raised an eyebrow "and you don't drink from humans. wow. you're strong. Most fledgling can't control what they drink from, they usually attack everything in sight if they are thirsty." Course noticed the fake smile and decided not to push her any farther.

Narcissa's smile melted and she shook her head, her hair falling around her shoulders. She looked up and met Course's eyes. They were gorgeous, and she felt as if she could stare into them forever, fall into them and drown. "I killed a human once... and I'll never forgive myself for it."

"Killing once is not bad. It may weigh heavy on you, but it will not condemn you. you chose to rise above it and drink from animals. You are not a killer." Course smiled. She had killed before, and will probably kill again, but only if they came into her territory. This vampire had killed and had stopped drinking. She was something different, something special.

Narcissa smiled. She felt exhausted. Normally, she would be out cold at this time. "Thank you. Um," She licked her lips and spoke softly, "do you mind if I go lay down?"

Course realized that Narcissa was probably exhausted."Go ahead. If you want you can sleep in my bed. I'm going to go out for a run. I'll be back later. Would you like me to bring you something to drink, or do you just want to wait till tonight?"

"Tonight?" Narcissa asked. "Um, I- I really have no preferance. It's up to you." And with that, she stood up and disappeared into the bedroom, feeling awkward and weird,

Course tilted her head, maybe she had been pushing it to much, suggesting that they would go hunting again tonight. 'stupid.' she thought to herself, as she stripped. It was easier than ruining another outfit. She fell to all fours and shifted. Before leaving she glanced in her room and saw Narcissa laying on the bed. She ruffed a soft see you later and ran out the door.

It was just getting dark when Narcissa awoke with a start. She could feel the moons energy fill her to core. Her molecules vibrated with power. She shuddered, standing up on trembling legs. She heard the television on in the other room. She followed the sounds and saw images of gore pass over the screen. She winced and looked around for Course, who seemed to be nowhere in sight.

Course heard noise in the living room, and as she reentered the back door, she noticed Narcissa searching, probably for her. She cleared her throat to show where she was.

Narcissa turned suddenly, startled. "what are you doing?" She asked suddenly, without thinking.

Course noticed she had startled her and smirked. She held up a rabbit. "I brought you something. and I figured a nice stew would be good for dinner." She walked to the kitchen counter and placed the rabbit on the cutting board. "Do you want the blood? Cuz if you're thirsty I can save it and put it in a mug."

"Oh, yeah. sure." Narcissa leaned against the counter. "I should go home soon." She hated saying the words, wishing she never had to leave. But she had a home, a rent, and life outside of the beauty standing in front of her. "So, you went hunting... already?" It was a dumb question, but she could nothing bite it back.

Course looked up at her, sadness in her eyes. She tried to hide her sorrow as she said, "No. I just heard this guy out back and figured I'd get him. When do you have to go?" She didn't want her to leave. "Will you come back?" She wanted to know. She liked Narcissa and wanted to see her again.

Narcissa cupped the mug between her palms and sipped from it delicately. Blood stained her lips. She ran her tongue along her fangs and over her lips. She inhaled deeply, the silence aggravating her. "I should leave after dinner. Y-you can come with... if you wanted? I mean, you don't have too, I just thought-" She broke off, blushing darkly when she realized she'd been rambling. "Sorry."

Course smiled. "I'll come, if you'll have my company." I should come anyway. I don't want you getting lost in my woods." Course was happy at the thought of going with her, but still afraid. She didn't know if Narcissa liked her, or was just being polite.

Narcissa smiled and felt something inside of her spark to life. She ignored the burning embers in the pit of her stomach and focused on the girl in front of her.

Course blushed a deep red as she felt Narcissas eyes on her. She went about cooking her stew but still felt embarrassed. She turned and asked, "Well I know vampires can eat real food if they want, would you like a bowl?" She tried to avoid Narcissa's eyes as she was blushing so much.

Narcissa smirked and looked up at Course through her dark lashes. "No thank you." She gestured to the mug. "I'm all set."

Course giggled and set her bowl down on the table. She began to eat, stealing glances at the beauty in front of her. She tried to eat fast, so she could pack some clothes, knowing she would want to change. Course stood suddenly and placed her bowl in the sink, and went into her room to pack some clothing.

No more than an hour later, Narcissa was pushing open the door to her flat. She kicked off her heels and gestured for Course to come in. "It's not much, but its home." She closed the door and locked it behind the gorgeous girl. "I... uh, don't have a spare bedroom, so I can take the couch. Um, im gonna go shower and throw on some clothes. Make yourself at home."

Course watched Narcissa leave into her bathroom and almost immediately fell to all fours and shifted. She felt less awkward in wolf form, as she sniffed through the house. She couldn't help it, it was an urge she had. She walked into the bedroom and surveyed it, it was simple yet busy at the same time. a nice Victorian bed lay in the middle and a large window on the far wall. She felt like she was the typical "bad dog" as she jumped on the bed and curled up into a ball. She had been on her feel all day and just wanted to lay. So She lay there, waiting for her vampress to come back.

Narcissa hadn't expected to find Course lying in her wolf form on her bed. She wore nothing but a dark purple towel, her hair falling in damp curls over her shoulders and around her face. She blushed a dark crimson, but forced her feet to move. She ignored Course's burning gaze and grabbed her a pair of plaid pajama bottoms and black tank top before walking back into the bathroom.

Course was blushing under her fur, as she watched Narcissa walk in wearing only a towel. She couldn't look away as the beauty grabbed her clothing and left aging. She sighed and waited for her to come back, to apologize for making her blush so, though she did enjoy the sight.

Narcissa walked back into the bedroom, her pants hanging dangerously low on her hips and her tank riding up on her belly. She had pulled hair loosely with a small clip. She stood awkward in front of Course before settling on the bed, with her hands firmly in her lap. "Like I said, you can have the bed."

Course sat up and wagged her tail. She licked Narcissa's cheek in a silent apology from before and a silent thank you. She tilted her head and twitched her ears, wanting to be pet. She lay her muzzle on Narcissa's shoulder and whined slightly.

Narcissa began to pet Course's fur, scratching gently behind her ears. "You should get some sleep." Without thinking, she bent forward and pressed her lips to the top of her head before moving away. Her heart beat against her ribs when she realized what she had done. She muttered an incoherent apology and ran from the room, shutting the door softly behind her.

Course's ears went back when Narcissa left the room. She whined at the empty room and jumped off the bed to follow the girl. She sat in the doorway and tilted her head to the side as she watched Narcissa pace in the living room, unknowing of her presence.

Just that simple kiss had sent Narcissa's heart soaring. She let out a strangle cry, letting herself fall onto the couch and sink into it. She buried her face in her hands. It didn't matter than it hadn't been Course's human form. The kiss meant the same thing, in a freakishly weird way. "I cant believe I did that..." She murmured, her heart still hammering in her chest.

Course heard what Narcissa said and she lay down, tail curled around her leg, ears back, eyes wide an sad. She looked like a puppy who had done something wrong, and was about to be punished. She let out a small whimper, wondering why Narcissa was so upset. She thought maybe it was her fault, and ,even in her wolf form, she began to cry.

Narcissa looked up, hearing Course's whimper. Not realizing she had hurt the girl, she stared, wondering what was upsetting her so. "What's wrong?"

Course sat up, ears still back. She felt weak, and didn't want it to show. She let out a small growl and ran into the bathroom, hiding in the shower. She curled up in a ball and cried, transforming back into her human form.

Narcissa had no idea what she had, but knew whatever it was that had Course so upset was indeed her fault. Her heart ached in her chest, but she refused to fall into it. She leaned against the wall, inhaling and exhaling. She was trying to focus. She still had more than a few hours until sunrise and she needed something to do. Not caring that she was poorly dressed she slipped on a pair of tennies. She hesitated at the door, looking back in the direction of the bathroom, but eventually shut the door behind her. If course didn't want to talk to her, Narcissa wouldn't force her.

Course ran out of tears and got up from the shower. She grabbed her bag and threw on some clothing and went in search of Narcissa. She felt she needed to talk to her, ask if she had done something. She looked for her but couldn't find her. She sniffed the air and followed her scent out the door and into the streets.

Narcissa walked out of 711, snacking on a Kit Kat. The chocolate tasted sweet, but not as good as she remembered. She frowned. That familiar scent hung in the air, making her dizzy. The scent became overwhelming as it intoxicated her. She spun around and found herself staring into those familiar eyes.

Course looked into Narcissa's eyes as she left the 711. She needed to talk to her, but she couldn't seem to vocalize anything, so to try to tell Narcissa she whined and pouted. Her eyes were raw and she felt sick from crying and she was tired but she was determined to find out why Narcissa had run from the bedroom. She tried her voice again but all that she could muster was a soft hoarse "why?"

Something inside Narcissa broke when she saw Course, but she was ultimately confused. "Why what?"

Course cleared her throat and closed her eyes, concentrating on her human voice, "Why...did...you..run..out..of the...bedroom?" she said slowly and with determination. every word was hoarse but still able to understand.

How could Narcissa explain without spilling her newly formed secret? She closed her eyes and huffed. "I kissed you."

Course blushed and nodded. Then she tilted her head and furrowed her brow, "I know. but..did I do something..or is that the reason?" Course was confused. Yes she had kissed her, and it had sent Course's heart into overdrive, but she didn't know what it was that was bugging Narcissa so much about it.

Narcissa gazed at Course. It wasn't so much the kiss, which had been as innocent as two young girls playing Barbie, as it was that Narcissa had wanted so much more. She couldn't speak, couldn't think of the words. It seemed she had forgotten all of her vocabulary. She opened her mouth, closed it, and repeated this several times before she did something that would simplify and complicated everything: She buried her fingers in Course's hair and pulled her forward, pressing their lips together.

Course was surprised at first, when their lips collided, but she soon closed her eyes and let herself get lost in that one kiss. She wrapped her arms around Narcissa's waist and pulled her closer, kissing her back.

Narcissa pulled away only when the need for air grew strong. She met Course's eyes, afraid of what she might see. Her heart hammered against her throat and she felt nauseous, but not sick; excited.

Course whined when Narcissa pulled away, but she needed to breathe, too. Her chest heaving she stared into Narcissa's eyes, her own full of compassion and love. She hugged Narcissa close and buried her nose in her hair as she nuzzled her neck.

Narcissa stiffened when Course wrapped her arms around her. She was experiencing something new; a new thirst, a dangerous hunger. Her eyes teared up as she fought the beast, holding onto Course. She licked her lips, pain erupting behind her eyes. She closed them, her knees went weak and she hung onto Course, suddenly feeling weak. Nothing ever stayed good, something always went wrong.

Course felt Narcissa stiffen, then relax, then go limp. She lifted Narcissa up, carrying her back to the apartment. The sun would be up soon, and she needed her sleep.

Narcissa awoke with a start. The heavy draped were pulled to, but she could feel the sun melting from the sky. Could feel it's power draining, filling her with energy and a vibrant power. She suddenly remembered the Kiss. The kiss her and Course had shared. Did Course think it was a mistake? Did she feel anything for Narcissa? Now she wasn't so sure of anything. Damn romance.

Course lay in the living room, on the couch, watching the sun set, knowing Narcissa would be waking up soon. Would she regret what happened last night? Course wanted so desperately to know. She yawned and stretched her paws. She had been in the apartment all day, and since she couldn't run in the woods, decided to just stay in wolf form. She sat up and watched the bed room door, waiting for Narcissa to appear.

After showering and dressing in a pair of jeans and a pink tank that said "hugs not drugs", Narcissa exited her bedroom. She was unaware of Course as she went into the kitchen for coffee. "Want any coffee?" She asked without looking up.

Course tilted her head and barked, a little louder than she had meant, to signal that she was in wolf form. She tilted her head and nodded to a bowl on the counter.

Narcissa looked at the bowl. "You want it in the bowl?"

Course nodded and licked her lips. She wagged her tail and awaited her coffee.

"Iced?" Narcissa asked, making her own coffee first.

Course nodded again, panting. It was hot, so yes she wanted iced. She noticed Narcissa barely looking at her. She tilted her head and wondered if she really did regret last night. The thought made her ears flatten and a small whine to escape her throat.

Narcissa glanced at the whining dog, cocking an eyebrow. "What's on your mind?" She poured the iced coffee into the bowl and lifted herself onto the counter.

Course walked over to the counter and placed her front paws on the top, licking the coffee up. She looked into Narcissa's eyes and decided to try an old werewolf trick she had not yet mastered. she focused and thought, 'do you regret what happened last night?' and was satisfied when Narcissa's eyes went wide.

Narcissa was startled to hear Course's voice echoing in her mind. "No." She was almost offended that Course would think that, but hadn't she though the same thing. "Why do you think that? Do you?"

Course shook her head so fast she almost fell off of the counter. 'no. i just thought, since you weren't looking at me, and you seemed to be avoiding me, i just thought maybe you did.' she thought, tilting her head to the side.

Narcissa petted Course's head. "if you were human, id kiss you, but you're not so you luck out." She laughed as Course's face seemed to fall, even as a canine, her emotions were clear as day.

Course jumped off the counted, picked up her bag, and headed to the bathroom. She shifted back and threw on some clothes and ran back to the kitchen. "Can we go hunting?" She had been inside all day and wanted to go for a run. She whined and stared at Narcissa, waiting for an answer.

"I don't see why not." Narcissa replied, sipping delicately from her mug. Her eyes ran the length of Course's figure before meeting her eyes, smirking.

Course blushed when she noticed Narcissa looking her over. She looked down at herself, and saw that she was wearing an old pair of ragged shorts and a torn up tank top. "Well I had to wear this, unless you wanted me to strip in front of you before I went all wolfy."

Narcissa bit back the comment that wanted to pass so casually through her lips. She just blushed and turned away from Course. "Couldn't have that could we?" She couldn't resist having the last word. "Lemme go get changed."

Course blushed as she watched Narcissa leave the room. She went to the couch and sat as any wolf would. front paws down. She played with the hem of her shirt as she waited for Narcissa. She had noticed Narcissa holding a comment back, but didn't want to push, knowing it would be something that would probably make her blush.

When Narcissa returned, she was wearing a pair of plaid Bermudas and a mens white tank top. Her hair was pulled up into a messy twist. She was watching the floor, fiddling with something behind her back. She looked up, dropping her hands to her sides. "Ready to go?"

Course tilted her head. "yes." She jumped up and ran for the door. She was excited and wanted to go running, but she had something to ask, something she noticed. "What were you playing with behind your back?"

Narcissa decided to play the innocence card and shrugged, saying a nonchalant, "Nothing." She smiled sweetly, batting her long lashes.

Course tilted her head, and raised an eyebrow. She didn't fall for Narcissa's act one bit. She sat in front of the door. "I'm not moving till you tell me." She was determined. She didn't know why she wanted to know so badly, but she did.

Narcissa stared at Course, wondering if she was bluffing or not. She sighed and reached behind her. From the waist band of her pants, she pulled out a small hand gun. "See? Nothing."

Course's eyes widened and she whined. She tried to push herself as close to the door as possible. When she couldn't get any closer she took off to the couch and hid behind it.

Quit acting as if im gonna shoot you." Narcissa laughed, tucking the gun behind her back once again. "You should know better than I what goes bump in the night."

Course growled. She didn't like guns, but she supposed if Narcissa kept it away from her, it would be fine. She stood feeling ridiculous. "lets go."

Though Narcissa felt bad, she laughed at Course's discomfort, following her out the door. "You're cute." She smirked, knowing just how hard Course would blush.

Course felt her cheeks heat, and she blushed at Narcissa's comment. She crossed her arms over her chest and ducked her head, trying not to be seen. She could smell the air from the woods drifting in the city, and she smiled, knowing she would soon be running through the trees.

As Narcissa followed Course into the woods, her hands were ready to go for the gun. It was true that she could probably go more with her hands than with a gun, but guns were cool; not necessary, but fun to use. Did that make her sick? Probably, but she didn't care in the slightest what anyone thought of her. She glanced at Course. Well, almost anyone.

Course walked into the trees, wanting to be in deep enough so noone would see them. She fell to all fours and was about to change when she smelled someone. She knew that smell, and her heart dropped. She felt her anger rise as she growled, low, feral, and dangerous.

Narcissa watched Course closely. Something was wrong, but she hadn't a clue as to what. "Course, what is it?" Course silenced her with a growl, and Narcissa almost wanted to keep talking just to prove she wasn't a dog- no pun intended. Narcissa settled for frowning instead. crossing her arms across her chest, and throwing a silent tantrum.

Course changed, quickly and painlessly. Her ears were flat and she kept on growling. She turned to Narcissa and noticed she looked frustrated. 'Someone's here. Someone I haven't seen in a long time, and I need to get him. I suggest you get on my back, if you want to keep up.' Course tilted her head, to show Narcissa to get on, so she could run down her prey.

Narcissa settled herself onto Course's back and waited. Course's words were vague, but she decided that trusting her was the only thing Narcissa could do until things became more clear.

Course ran deep into the trees, following the mans scent. She was angry he was here, even angrier that she hadn't smelled him before. She slowed as she got close. She stopped by a fallen tree, and could see him. She let Narcissa down and glared at him, baring her teeth.

Narcissa had to admit that Course had quite the attitude when angry or threatened. She was dangerous and it was kind of sexy. Narcissa was almost disturbed to find she thought a wolf was sexy. She cringed and made a face, shaking her head. "Damn visuals." she murmured softly. Course looked at her, glaring. Narcissa shrugged. "Sorry." She whispered, but not quiet enough.

Course turned and saw the man looking in their direction. She howled, and pounced. She wanted to get her revenge, and she wanted to protect Narcissa. Course knocked his gun out of his hand and pinned his hands and feet. ' Grab his gun.' She instructed to Narcissa. She went for his throat, but couldn't seem to take the bite. She shook and howled again.

Narcissa ran for the gun, tripping over her own feet. She couldn't do as she was told and watch the fight at the same time. Frustrated, she grabbed the gun and was startled when a gun cocked behind her head. She froze. Everything stopped. She took in steady breaths. "Drop it." She did as she was told and released the strangers gun, holding her hands up to show she'd done it. Fear had her heart in her throat. She heard Course growling, struggling with the man. "Get up." She did as she was told.

Course heard the other voice and cursed. she glanced behind her and saw the other hunter pointing the gun at Narcissa's head. Course fought with herself, if she let the man go she could save Narcissa. But if not she died, and Course got her revenge. Growling she ran into the trees, circling the other hunter. She pounced and he fell on his stomach.

As Course tackled the hunter, Narcissa heard the cocking of another gun. Before she could think she swiftly brought her gun out and pointed. "Don't do it." She felt incredibly bad ass; powerful. Course and the hunter were frozen, looking between the two: Narcissa and the hunter. "I'll shoot." The hunter laughed, "That wont kill me." Narcissa shook her head, "No, but it'd heard like fuck."

Course stared at Narcissa's gun, fighting the urge to back off, instead she put her jaws on the back of the hunters neck, she didn't know what he was, he didn't smell like a vampire. She decided that she may as well, and bit down, putting enough pressure to hurt him, but not kill him. She waited to see what Narcissa would do.

Narcissa watched Course from the corner of her eye, keeping most of her attention on the other Hunter. "Tell me what to do, Course. Tell me to blow his fucking brains out and I will." She didn't want to kill another human, but it was their lives over his. Period.

Course fought with what to do. She decided that she couldn't let the man get away. She snapped the other hunters neck, and felt him go limp. She didn't know if he was dead but she had to get the other. 'Shoot his hand. Get the gun away from him. If he shoots me, It'll kill me. I need to deal with him.'

Narcissa swallowed hard, aimed, and fired, catching the hunter off guard. The shot echoed, scaring off a few birds. He howled in pain, gripping what was left of his hand. She sighed breathlessly. "I told you it'd hurt."

Course yelled in her mind 'Get His Gun.' and she pounced. She and the man were in the same position they were before, only this time she didn't hesitate. Course bit down on his throat and felt him struggling underneath of her.

Narcissa kicked the gun aside, making sure it was far enough out of the way that he would have to work to get it. She still held her own gun between her two hands, aiming. She glanced at Course and backed away, noticing the look in her wolfish eyes. "Have at him,"

Course bit down and then let go. He was still breathing, but just barely. She wanted this to hurt. 'Do you know what you did to me? Do you know how much you hurt me? Well now you get to feel it.' she didn't think about how Narcissa could hear her thoughts. She clawed at him, ripping into him as he gagged. Course howled and snapped his neck.

Narcissa cringed, fascinated, disgusted, and disturbed all at once. She wanted to look away, but she was captivated. It looked so easy for her. She had snapped his neck just like that, as if he hadnt been human. As if he'd never been human. Narcissa wasn't sure what she thought or how she felt. She was confused as she watched Course.

Courses ears went back and she whined as she realized what had just happened and how she had acted. She walked off to a nearby tree and lay down, fighting with her stomach so she wouldn't throw up. She had killed men before but this man was different. She had wanted this for so long, and now that she had done it, she didn't know how to feel.

Narcissa didn't move as Course moved to a nearby tree. She, herself, couldn't wrap her mind around what had just happened. She stumbled backwards, feeling weak in the knees. She leaned against a tree trunk, the bark biting into her back. She threw the gun down, feeling its power race up her arm. She shuddered. The kill had been amazing, fun even. She let out a strangled sob and covered her mouth, feeling nauseous. She threw herself down to the ground and gave way to the bile churning in her stomach.

Course noticed Narcissa sick on the other side of the trees. She had forgotten that she didn't kill humans and felt terrible for having her there when all of this happened. 'I'm sorry.' she thought to Narcissa.

Narcissa was so busy heaving and gagging that she'd barely heard the soft words echoing through her mind. She would discuss the apology later, when she'd cleaned up a bit. She sat back on her knees and took in deep gulps of air, trying to calm her beating heart and churning stomach.

Course stood and went over to Narcissa. She nuzzled her, trying to comfort her. 'Let's go to my cabin. you can clean up there.' She lifted both bodies onto her back, she had to hide them in her freezer. ' grab their guns. I cant touch them.'

Narcissa grabbed the guns, tucking her own into her waistband before following Course. She felt sluggish and disgusting. "Who was he?"

Course looked into Narcissa's eyes. 'The man who killed my family.' She thought before leading Narcissa to her home.

Narcissa just nodded, having nothing to reply with, and followed Course into her home.

Course opened her cabin door, and went to the freezer to store the bodies. 'Put the guns in the living room, we can throw them in the river tomorrow.' She led Narcissa to the bathroom, 'You can clean up here. I'm going to go cook some food.'

Narcissa wondered if she had done something wrong as she shut the door behind her, putting a barrier between her and Course. She looked into the mirror and for some reason didn't see the same person staring back. This person was changed, reformed, different. Narcissa shook her head and looked down into the sink, splashing cool water over her face. She filled the small blue cup up with water and did the best she could without a toothbrush before exiting the bathroom.

Course changed in her room and dressed. She went into the kitchen and grabbed a container of pigs blood and heated it in a mug for Narcissa. She grabbed two steaks and put them in the skillet. While her dinner cooked she waited for Narcissa.

Narcissa entered the kitchen, completely lost in thought. She leaned against the counter and automatically took the mug from Course's offering hands. She sipped from it, cringing at the taste. Her thoughts scattered and left her feeling incomplete. "You know, there was no reason to apologize tonight."

Course looked at her, "I killed two men in front of you, and you don't eat humans. I didn't want you to be there if and when I happened across a human, especially that man." Course grabbed her dinner and sat at the table to eat.

Narcissa tilted her head, following Course over to the table, though she didn't sit. Her thoughts were on a roll once again. "You don't have to change just because our morals and values are exactly the same..." She sipped again from the mug, blood staining her lips and coating her mouth in red. "Get me?"

Course thought for a second. "Yes. but I still didn't want to kill humans in front of you. And we may need to get rid of those guns tonight. The smell of them is making me sick."

"Mmkay." Narcissa sat down with Course and just watched her, studying her. She really was beautiful.

Course blushed as she noticed Narcissa watching her. She stood to clean her plate and then went into the closet to grab a towel. "Here. I need you to clean the guns and wrap them up. Then I'll lead you to the river. I would help but they have too much silver."

Narcissa did as she was told and followed Course to the river.

Course sat at the river bank and watched Narcissa dispose of the rifles. She felt better but then she remembered what she had done and she tasted his blood again. She couldn't help the nauseous feeling growing in her and she was sick.

"You need to lie down." Narcissa said, ran a hand through Course's hair. "To... digest everything, and I don't mean that the way its sounds."

Course nodded and stood. She needed to shower and sleep. She leaned against Narcissa and walked back to the cabin.

Narcissa helped Course into bed after she had taken a shower and gotten dressed. She sat on the edge of the bed, watching Course fall into a deep sleep. She got up and walked towards the door. She was not tired, and had many hours until sun-up. She wandered the house in search of something to do.

Course awoke when she heard a noise in the living room. She looked at the clock. It was just after sunrise. She walked to investigate. Narcissa was sleeping on the couch, one of Courses old horror DVD's playing on the screen. She couldn't help but giggle at the site. Narcissa had fallen asleep curled up on the corner of the couch, a blanket pulled up to her chin and she was clutching one of Courses stuffed animals to her chest.

It was a little after sundown when Narcissa woke up. The Television set had been shut off and she was embarressed to admit the movie had terrified her. The stuffed animal had fallen from her arms onto the floor. She hoped to God Course hadnt seen her clutching onto the adorable stuffed animal as she searched the house for Course. She found her in her room, on the computer. Feeling bold. Narcissa steathly walked up behind Course, bending low and pressing her lips to her shoulder.

Course jumped when she felt Narcissa's lips pressed against her shoulder. She blushed and stuttered " y-you scared m-me."

"I was going for something a little more exciting, but scaring works too." Narcissa laughed, sitting on the edge of Course's
