So one of my closest friends, Ashley, works as a server in a restaurant. On occasion she has such an interesting customer, that she will call and tell me about him/her on her lunch break.

Some customers suck. They can be rude, they can be messy, and they can be cheap. But every so often, one is not half bad. Granted this can be one of the most difficult/frustrating jobs at times, but it can also have it's redeeming moments.

It's a Thursday afternoon, and lunch time has come. An older man walks in the Restaurant, and "strangely" points at a cake in the dessert case. My friend does her best to get him his cake, and seat him at a nearby booth. He begins to devour his cake, and minutes later he orders a sandwich. While he's still enjoying his cake, his sandwich arrives to the table. Briefly after, my friend notices her customer isn't touching his sandwich, and wonders if there is something wrong. She approaches her coworker, who says the older man was a teacher of hers years before, and he now is dying from Parkinson's Disease.

My friend, feeling a little sad about his situation, walks to his table and asks if everything was okay with his sandwich. He looks up at her and replies "Life's too unsure now. I eat dessert first."

True story.

Gave me chills, not gonna lie.
