i need to blog more, if i read back there's tons of stuff and recently i don't do anything. recently as in the last year or so.. sorry, dedicated reader (all ONE of you out there!), and future joel looking for a trip to the past.

so, what's going on with me! well not a lot and a lot. i've recently joined a new band (though still remaining in no justice), called T.S.A.R. . it's an acronym. we've got a myspace up but it's pretty bare, and a facebook page with some practise snaps. it's sounding good. right now we're like 90% cover songs, though we have about 5 songs to put some music to once we've got these songs down. the covers we do are really fun, fast and energetic and if you're not an idiot you'll like them, and if you're even more not an idiot you'll move around at the gigs we do to them. we've got a charity gig set up for 20th of december, which is a while away and i'd rather do some sooner gigs but nevermind!

i had to take apart L (my electric guitar. yes, my guitars have names.) to upgrade her/it seeing as she/it had some problems playing out in pubs -- apparently the electricals picked up on other electrical frequencies. mental. so yea i've learned a lot about the inside of the guitar, and i'm getting much better at playing. i'm loving it. if only i could sing and write lyrics. oh well.

uni's going pretty good. i won't go off on a tangent on the details because your laymen reader probably doesn't care about how much i enjoy functional programming vs. imperative. but i do, so there. we had a mega-bitch teaching us one module -- which i may fail, 50/50 on that... -- but now she's left, so all is well.

catching the bus to uni's much nicer than trains. i don't dislike trains per se, i just seem to be happier catching the bus. i think it's the route, as well as something called pain of payment, which is something like every time we pay some money, it pains us a bit, but this pain doesn't go up particularly with the amount. so paying something off each day causes more "pain" than paying something of equal value once a week. that's if i remember correctly and understand a book i read this summer. but yes the route is nicer, cause when i walk to uni from the bus stop i don't walk past 1,000,000 students and even more shops and coffee shops and clothes shops and stuff that just bums me out.

and having a megarider gold means i can basically catch any (stagecoach) bus i like to anywhere. which is awesome, and helped when i stopped over at mikey's on a whim the other night for travel in the morning. mikey's was nice, we chilled, watched street crime and had some beers but i had to go to bed early as i had uni in the morning. had some reeeeally bad dreams that messed my head up for the day. that and mikey wandering around at 5am in the morning.

meant to be meeting sam and sarah tomorrow for something. knowing me it'll probably just be spa lane... then monday it's meeting laura time. it's reading week on a lot of my modules so i can catch up with some assignments etc. and still have some time to do some stuff. awesome :)
