Back to Myke, "The Nucleus"of the project. The man is one of those guys you just want to hate (in good way) because he is so capable on all instruments - arrrgh! But he comes across friendly and unpretentious as soon as you meet him. He was cool to me when initially contacting via the phone and all following conversations, and when I showed up at the gig he totally welcomed me in and made feel comfortable. I have to commend him for that, as we all know that initial meetings and auditions can be a bit taxing. Sincerely a good hearted person from what I saw, while also methodically moving forward as a determined business man.
Myke is also producing several other bands at the moment. See his site and check them out. Anyway, the guy wrote and produced the Souls Sychedelics material and did a very good job in my opinion. Obviously, he approached the recording and mix down session very objectively. Generally when a Guitar player, Bass player Drummer etc. is put behind the board during mix down, for some strange reason - that particular instrument is "some how?" always louder than it should be - hmmm. Wether he makes it as a player or producer in the future- I think that he has a good chance of being successful in either avenue. His network already seems to be fairly impressive from the little that I know of it, and if you are clued in where these matters are concerned, realizing that NETWORKING is key to getting your product in front of the right people in this business is ultimately a very key factor to ones success or lack there-of.
