There is a fort in Ghana called Elmina. It has dungeons where people were kept before being shipped out to the New World. Hundreds of people would be crowded into a space that would normally fit fifty or so. They would have to wait there until the ship came to take them across the Atlantic. That is where they stood, and where they did all their bodily functions. Many died. Many more would die on the ship. The walls are marked by the fingers of slaves, where they clawed in desperation.
Never again.
