Have you ever wondered why you wanted me to be a certain way?

Have you ever wondered why you gave up on me before I had my say?

I always wanted to learn how to fly.
But you never asked me what kind of bird I wanted to be,
That's how I began to understand "Why Caged Birds Sing"

I always knew God was almighty, and that he answered all prayers,
So I ask, "Are You There God It's Me Margaret?

I never questioned my blackness, nor has anyone else.

Forgetting to remember all that Garvey and "Malcolm
X", and Dr. King have done.

The American way or for which it stands,
We as a people must Graduate a scholar with degree in hand.

I educated my mind, then they fill it with untrue,
Brain washing our children,
Do as I say not as I do.

Be all you can be, do all that you can,
Keep your goals and mind oriented:
"Man child In the Promise Land."

I know how to use "The Hand I Fan With" to do miraculous things,

As I write I live,
