I was very surprised to learn that the internet is not just floating around in our eye these days. I am so used to being home and having wireless. one day, we will have internet in the eye and everything will be alright.
Tour is going great. Thanks to everyone who came out to the USA headline shows. It was great to be able to get back into the tour life by playing hour long sets. We got to try out different songs every night. New songs are really fun to play live. Believe has now become a live show staple for us. Our van broke down in St Louis on day 3 of the tour. That was unfortunate. But, it really did turn into a positive experience. Some really good friends of ours in the band THE DISAPPEARED took care of us the whole time we were there. Dan from the band pretty much made us official st Louis residents in his apartment. They took us around and showed us the local hot spots. The Busch Brewery tour, where we learned they put dirty wood chips in fermenting yeast to make their beer. Everyone got free beer at the end while I drank really bad tasting mountain dew. serves me right. We were introduced to some great local bars and restaurants. we were hanging at one bar which had an open mic night. some how steve talked the band into letting us play one song. I could tell they wantd nothing to do with us touching their instruments. We played Believe and it turned out that there were some people in the bar that actually knew us and couldnt understand why, or how we were playing in this bar. it was really fun to be able to walk up and out of know where play this song and have people really appreciate it. We also got to play a free show on our first night at a really great little bar. Dan decided we should do it at 4 AM the night before and pulled it all together somehow. Dont know how he did it...he is a legend. ton of people showed up and it was amazing. such a good way to make our van break down worth it in the end.
we moved onto the say anything tour starting in California. This tour is 4 shows in and I know this tour is going to be amazing. Everyone on it are all super nice and very relaxed. watching Say Anything play every night there is this feeling that something very special is happening. It is nice to be a part of that. A band called MOVING MOUNTAINS is also on the tour. I had never heard them before, blew me away the first night. After watching them we actually changed our set around to include more of the spacey atmospheric songs. I just got really inspired from watching them. They have something really unique about their band. I feel we have ourselves a new favorite band, as well as new really great friends.
We played Seattle last night. Pretty much insane. I might go as far as saying that it was one of the best shows we have ever played in the states opening for another band. We were not expecting how good the show was going to be. as soon as we started playing i felt like there was an explosion. the energy was unbelievable. Seattle we love you. Cannot wait to come back in the new year.
Well, I need sleep...feel the sickness trying to bring me down already. I will kill it though. See you soon. K
