FREE TEXAS CELEBRATES FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE

Joins Texas Artists for an Afternoon of Music and Fundraising to
Support the Fort Sam Houston Warrior and Family Support Center
SAN ANTONIO, TX. — DATE — Radio Free Texas proudly announces the
first anniversary of the Texas Songwriters Showcase, (heard every
Tuesday night on www.radiofreetexas.org) to be held on Sunday,
November 15, 2009, from 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM CDT at the Tin Roof Steakhouse in Boerne, TX. The Texas Songwriters
Showcase will feature an afternoon of music, raffle prizes, and
fundraising to support the Warrior and Family Support Center of Fort Sam Houston, which
provides coordinated services to wounded soldiers and their families
on their road to recovery upon return from overseas service.
Texas Singer/Songwriters will join together to help raise money for
the Center. Performing Artists include: Walt & Tina Wilkins, John
Arthur Martinez, Adam Carroll, Owen Temple, Tres Womack, Jeff
Strahan, Red Dvorak, David Fenley, James Pardo, Dustin Welch, Matt
Harlan, Shannon Cain, Mike Ethan Messick and Mark Jungers. The event
will be open to the public, and donations for the Warrior and Family
Support Center will be accepted at the door.
“We are excited to not only be commemorating the first anniversary
of the Songwriters Showcase, but to also recognize the contributions
to our armed forces by the Fort Sam Houston Warrior and Family
Support Center – an outstanding facility that gives back to the
military community by providing valuable and much needed services to
the soldiers that serve and protect our country,” said Dave
Maisano, of Radio Free Texas. “This is an opportunity for us to
contribute and raise funds for the organization while also
celebrating the tremendous talent and creative spirit of the
musicians and songwriters that have performed on the Songwriters
Showcase weekly series.”
The Texas Songwriters Showcase will be held at the Tin Roof
