Hi everybody, Ég nennti ekki að skrifa bæði á íslensku og ensku þannig að Íslendingar, ekki vera pirripú, lesið'etta bara!
Thought we should share news with you! We have some good news and some bad news.
Let's start with the sad news. Our guitar/bass player Arnór is leaving the band. He has decided to turn to other things in life and is going to leave the band after Iceland Airwaves. All is good and we're all still friends although of course it is always sad to say goodbye. But we've decided to look at this as a new start for us and a chance for us to grow and do new things. We will be adding a new member to the band and are currently looking for someone to take Arnór's part. But let me tell you, it's hard to fill this boy's shoes. Hard to find a pretty boy like Arnór, but hey..we'll work this out. Because of these circumstances we've decided to cancel the tour we were planning to go on in Germany and surrounding countries in November/December.
But as I said there is a lot going on with Rökkurró these days and the future is looking bright. Our album will be released in Japan in the next days ( we think it's October 16th) by Rallye/Klee Label (check them out in our top friends!) This of course will be Special Japan edition with two songs from our first EP. And some crazy cute japanese artwork! We're very exited and hope this will lead to a tour in Japan, but we'll see how things go.
We have now started a collaboration with a booking agency, Kolleqt Booking, that will help us arrange tours in 2009. We are now starting to arrange a tour in the first months of 2009 and of course we will let you know how that turns out, as soon as we've got any dates!
So dear friends, if you're attending Iceland Airwaves this year, make sure you'll catch our very special last concert with Arnór. It will take place at Iðnó, Saturday, 8 PM.
Love, Hildur / Rökkurró
