Here we go again, posting a blog. i have no idea if anyone is reading these things. ill keep posting them!!!

Saturday evening at the Farm to Family Fest was a fantastic evening. Since H&S started playing there, we've had nothing but the best time. i certainly would go even if we were'nt performing.

This past saturday featured Daryl Brewer, who in my book is one of the finest Florida folk singer/songerwriter around. i could listen to Daryl all day long. his music is pure and it come across that way. you cant help but live a little of what he sings about, especially if you are a Florida Cracker!

Quartermoon has been around for a long time. Formally the Dancing Horse Band, and from what i understand, before that, "Harmonay Grits". i wasnt around during that era. i was serving my country in germany but from what i've heard they were a kick butt bluegrass band. These guys never cease to amaze me in all thier configurations and guests. i think they know everyone, and maybe even a few more!!! their music is pure Americana. they play it all. Folk, Rock, Country, Bluegrass, and do it with the upmost authority and professionalism. i feel fortunate to know these guys.

the next band, Velveeta Underground. with a name like that what kind of introduction do they need. allz i can say is these guys amaze me evertime i hear them. please take my word for it. go see them. entertainment is thier middle name.

the Turkey Scratch Ramblers take "old Timey" to the next level. they are pure traditional with a twist. i love these guys and hope i get the chance to jam with them one day. all the guys in the band are great, but the highlight for me saturday evening was when Allison brought out her board and did some irish step dancing

i cant say enough about the farm to family fest . if you can make it out, its a wonderful way to spend a saturday evening. very family oriented with vendors and all. even a campfire jam after the show, and did i mention *free camping*. im sure donny will be pleased that im plugging his fest, but he deserves it for all the great work he's done to keep this thing going.

last but not least is Ham & Slide. we put it into high gear saturday evening. there truely is a symbiosis between the crowd and the performer. the more people hollered and whistled and danced, the harder we picked. the last two songs, Roll in my sweet Babys Arms, and Lonesome Road Blues we pretty much kicked it into high gear. its hard to put into words sometimes how H&S feels when we have the kind of response we did Saturday.
hopefully we will see yall on the long lonesome road soon,

remember, always keep the greasy side up!!!
