My dears...

Rebecca Marie here. Brave the Day is on a break. If you read my blogs, or come to our shows, you've maybe figured this out by now. I have started a new musical project that makes me incredibly happy, hopeful, and excited. So far, our committed members are myself on guitar/ vocals/ pencil and paper, Natalie McKee on vocals/ viola/ and soon to be ukulele, and Joe McAnulty on violin/ mandolin/ and testosterone. We're gunning for the fabulous guitar/banjo skills of Eli Charleston aka Clinton Daub, but he hasn't officially joined up yet. No name yet, but we are PISSED that the name Lady Hawk is already spoken for. (Frowny face) For now, our joke name is Hoof Hawk. We're a goofy bunch.

What do we sound like?? Melancholy shadowed by hope, beauty and strength, trees and wind, and lots of laughter. Develop your own less evasive description of our music at one of the following shows:

June 20th - 8-8:30pm - Whitaker Center Stage 2 - Opening for Slaid Cleaves (Austin based national singer-songwriter)
June 20th(yep. two in one night) - 9-9:45 pm - Suba - w/ good friend Eli Charleston

July 8th - 8-8:45 - Der Maennerchor - Opening for travelin' Louisiana Blues Man Pokey LaFarge
July 19th - 9 - 9:45 - Der Maennerchor - Benefit concert (still not sure for what) w/ friends The Greatest Funeral Ever, and Up Pops The Devil

We're off to a good start!

Please be in touch, and hope to see you're pretty faces soon.

Mwah!!

I will have to check out your new project. Meanwhile...wasn't BTD making a new record? Is that on hold?

Peace and be well!
