this is really just too funny.

i just got a call from the very obnoxious vintage store down the street (how obnoxious you ask? recently a couple of really high-end vintage dealers went in there and had to leave because the woman owner was being such a bitch. and these were NYC dealers who could run circles of style around my neighbors!).

anyway- they accused me of purposefully getting a phone number close to theirs. they are 923.7399 and i am 923.7299. she asked if i got a lot of business from having a phone number close to theirs, and i'm like, uh, no actually. no one has ever called me looking for them (that i can remember).
and then she started saying they "verified" that i got the number on purpose and blah blah blah...
so i hung up on her and cracked up laughing in the store!

WTF? i mean, really. they care about this?

what is so funny for me is that i got the number because it spells SAZZ (7299).
my old warehouse phone number had the same ending, just a different prefix. and i didnt even know about them 3 years ago when i first got the number. i just went with whatever spelled SAZZ.

i gotta wonder what is going on in her peroxide-frizzeld brains that she would think that calling me would accomplish anything. maybe make her feel better by trying to yell at me? (before i hung up on her). maybe they think i give a shit about their store?
i guess i care enough to be blogging about it- but its really more amusing than anything else because we don't get customers from a wrong number BUT we DO get customers who get so turned off by their rudeness that they come into my shop, where we are nice and polite, and buy something kinda just to spite the other store.

i say let them going on being assholes- i get more customers that way!

OMG!  The woman in that store seriously needs a lesson in customer service, and possibly some quaaludes.  I have been in there one (and forever my only)  time-- not even in the store for a minute, and she starts barking at this poor girl for being on her cell phone; yelling that she needed to "hang up, or leave", 3 times, as the girl was trying to end her call (quietly, I might add).   Personally I would have just left, but for some reason she decided to stick around and browse.

AND- they are COMPLETELY overpriced!   It would be cheaper to spend the extra money traveling to NYC and shopping there instead.  Or just meander down the street to your place, of course :)
