"What the....?" Have you ever said these words? I know I have. "What the heck am I doing here? What (in) the hell was I thinking? What (is) the point of making my bed when it only gets messy again?" I think you get the point.
"What the...?" are two of the most used words by those of us who feel lost and hopeless. (and from time to time, that includes all of us) "What the...?" is the begining of a search for meaning and hope. "What the...?" is begining of self doubt and self degredation.
"What the...?" can also be a challenge. "What (in) the world are you going to do about it?" I don't like it when poeple ask me that question. I hate it when I ask myself that question. As I look for the answers to "What the...?", I learn that sometimes, there are no simple answers. Or is there?
Sometimes the answer is "Because...". "Because you never know when you might need clean underpants." "Because if you don't make your bed, you won't get any dessert." Or even "Because I said so." That last one stings a bit. There are many things in this world that I don't have the answers to, let alone the right questions.
What I do know is that to the question "What (was) the reason that Jesus died for us?" The answer is simple. "Because he loved us." Just because!
