At long last I finally posted a new "Selections from The Punk Vault" up on
The Punk Vault site. This is an old feature I used to do where I'd pick an old record from the vault and write about the band and post a mp3 track from the record. It evolved into having members of the bands participate in the features telling their own story. Well I had run the well dry on old punk band members which is the only reason I haven't been doing the features. Luckily I came across one recently and now you can see the results. This feature is on the old Chicago band - Toothpaste. And boy were they a good band that you probably never heard of. I want to find more old band members so if you are one of those or know some, please get in touch with me.
For those of you wondering about my personal life, I guess I may as well start writing about that here since it doesnt' really fit to write about myself much anymore on The Punk Vault site. I quit my job about a month ago, fleed to CA for awhile and am now back facing life once more. My ex continues to make my life miserable by "pulling the strings" and I'm a fucking moron for allowing it to happen but I vow to be stronger and try and purge her from my life forever or until she can do the right thing by me.
I started up my mailorder again and it has been reborn at
The Punk Vault Store. I hope to expand it to carry much more vinyl but that will take some time and some money. Right now there is a pretty good selection of rare Mystic Records vinyl, much of which I unearthed on my trip to CA to visit the old man.
I'm completely sick of winter and the endless snow and cold weather is really bumming me out. I spent most of this weekend cleaning Combustion Manor. The place is in such disarray that it is making me crazy and I'm finally trying to remedy that as it is something I have neglected for far too long.
I finally have a couple of shows that I'm shooting this month starting with Black Dahalia Murder this Wednesday at house of blues. I'm also shooting Pelican and Black Cobra at the end of this month.
