July 3, 2009 - Friday

Current mood:  busy
Happy Summer Everyone!  I know I know, it's officially been summer for a few weeks but I'm a bit behind, especially since the kids are out of school and I don't have to get up at 5:30 every morning which makes it hard to remember what day it is. (I think it's Friday today...holidays really screw things up!).

Anyway, so far summer has been going well. We went on a family vacation for two weeks...visiting family in both Wisconsin and Illinois. And, I got to spend my *&%th birthday with my sister, brother, neice & nephew.  It was a great time (always is with my sis) but I'm really glad to be home!

So, now that I'm home and we're resettling it's time to tackle my TBR list (that would be the to-be-read) list. I've already made a minor dent in it, but I keep getting more books so the pile is growing instead of dwindling...which is okay because my son it always hungry for a book (he's read my whole TBR pile the stinker!).

Here's what I've read so far and highly recommend if you love to read. These are all different genres.

Gone Tomorrow--Lee Child
Kiss Her Goodbye--Robert Gregory Browne(this one came out a few years ago...did I mention I'm a bit behind??)
The Persuader--Lee Child (yep, still behind)
Sudden Death--Allison Brennan
Charmed & Dangerous--(originally titled Bobby Faye's Very very very Bad Day)-- Toni McGee Causey
Girls Just Wanna Have Guns (retitled from original Bobby Faye title)- Toni McGee Causey (okay, I read Toni's books before, but they are definitely worth a second read)
Trust Me--Brenda Novack
Lie to Me- Starr Ambrose (really great debut book!)
Night Shadow--Cherry Adair (awesome website!)
Without Fail--Lee Child (can you tell I'm a fan?)
I'm Watching You- Karen Rose

On my stack to be read:

Whispers in the Dark-Robert Gregory Browne
Kill Her Again-- Robert Gregory Browne
Say Goodbye-- Lisa Gardner
Fatal Secrets-- Allison Brennan
When a Man Loves a Weapon--Toni McGee Causey (coming in August)
Beneath Bone Lake-- Colleen Thompson
Good People--Marcus Sakey (which I forgot I had)
Real Life & Liars-- Kristine Riggle (my sis in law has it though so I have to wait to get it back from her)
Pride & Prejudice--Jane Austen (My other sis-in-law loaned it to me when I told her I'd never read it.)
Divorced Desperate & Delicious & Gotcha!-- both by Christie Craig

There are actually a lot more but these should get me through Labor Day. No, I'm not a slow reader (I read Robert's book in one day...could not put it down!) but I have my own book to finish and a couple more to write, so I can't keep reading (although I learn alot reading these great writers!).

So, what's on your list? Who would you recommend? Oh and (shameless self promotion here) if you haven't had a chance to pick up my book Her Will His Way, it's still available at Cobblestone Press for only $3.99 and makes a great curl up on the bed and fall in love read.

Hi Terri, when I pick up a book everything else gets shelved. Once I start reading that first page I can't leave it alone until it's finished. You look like you have a good book list there and I might check a few of them out myself. Thanks for sharing all those titles.
Oh, and I hope you enjoy your 4th July! Michelle
