HEY KIDS!!!
soooo…… what's been goin' on in the bushfire world??… you ask????

well a lot and a little, here and there…..

as you may have read in the last posts over the last months that we've been in search of a new drummer. it's been a tough thing to do… we tried out a good number of drummers but none of them made it to the second round, it's not easy to find someone who CAN play, who can play your music, who has TIME and likes to play as often as possible, AND someone who fits with the guys… attitude and all… well we think we found him.

how it goes is… we get an email… he comes by the shop to get a cd of our setlist on a thursday, we tell him…learn 3-4 songs and we'll see you in a couple weeks…. he said he didn't have time to fool around, so if we could meet on the next possible day, it would best for him. we told him…. come by on tuesday, (in 4days), i suggested that he should write the song structure down, due to the shortage of time, so he could be a little relaxed and know where WE were…. tuesday comes…. from the first beat of his drum until about 45mins later he was failure free… he didn't just learn the 4 songs… he learned the whole setlist…. all the songs we gave him! in 4 days!!! oh… did i say he did it WITHOUT writing anything down??? he knew the songs by the title,….i was… needless to say, IMPRESSED! the band as well…. so we invited him to a second try… but this time we would just see if we could jam together… a VERY important thing for us. so he came around for the second time and we definitely had a nice jam and the played the set again… WOW!   this was exactly what we were looking for! AMBITION! each practice we've had since, he is just become MORE stronger and comfortable, so we, as a band, met and discussed our future…. and here it goes……

MARK our original drummer… has been pulling out of BUSHFIRE due to time constraints… no other reason, just the man has no time! we've had a great time with mark, but it's be getting very hard and complicated to book a show and then have to cancel or find a replacement drummer, every time we do get a show. this is very frustrating… especially when miguel has played more live concerts with replacement drummers than with the original…. this puts a damper on the live shows as well as the song writing process… because we've done a lot of things in duplicate…

so what does all this mean???

mark will finish recording the upcoming album and play the CD-release show. and then we will say farewell to our good friend. in the meantime, our NEW drummer will be playing all other shows except for the MFM.
